Rory and Askren are for sure legit forces to be reckoned with in the future.

Douglas Lima will go big places, as will Yuri Villefort.
Abedi has a big shot, he was probably the best MW prospect out there, but at WW he will be awesome. Too bad UFC decided to play kill the prospect and feed him right to Alves.
I'm also very interested in Erick Silva, Luis Santos, and Gunnar Nelson.

When I think of prospects I tend to think who might be champ once GSP's reign comes to an end. Who will be the next generation of top ranked fighters.

@mino, Douglas Lima's brother Dhiego is also someone to watch for in the next couple years as well.
Is Ellenberger still considered a prospect?

agreed! there both gonna be beasts.....! also...i was asking myself the same very question.......i dont think so tho seeing as hes now fighting shields who just fought for the title....
i realise he's 31 but maybe claude patrick could be mentioned also....

@thiago, I think that was a very poor decision by Joe Silva, I have no idea what he was thinking. Giving Jordan Mein Cyborg was a bad decision too (but that was Sean Shelby). I think Silva is a great matchmaker but he makes a lot of bad choices.
On a side note, I don't consider guys with wins in the UFC's prospects. I guess they are still improving but to me Ellenberger isn't a prospect.

I'd have to say the waterboy. He has the brightest future imo. If Anthony Johnson could stay healthy I think he would move up the ww rankings quickly and become a contender.
