MMAFightingDon't think this news really surprises anyone. Best place for him and makes the WSOF Welterweight title picture very interesting.

Good news. WSOF is putting together a really solid roster with all the bad cuts from the UFC. Shields will have the title in WSOF within the next year.

2 fights that I've wanted to see with Shields are now possible thanks to WSOF. I've always wanted to see Shields vs Fitch and who doesn't wanna see Shields and Toquinho go toe to toe. Or leg to leg.

Palhares probably submits Jake Shields. This isn't a 215lb highly athletic Belcher who can make him pay with punches during leg lock transitions. Jake Shields can only defend, not even stifle Palhares on the mat. Also, I don't like Shields chances of keeping it up right and outpointing.
You heard it her first sincerely, NomadmikeXD

Meh, he beat Demian Maia in a 5 round fight, so I don't think he'd have much issue with Palhares. If Palhares is allowed to attempt a leglock Jake will just get out of it and wind up on top. I think he'd mainly wall and stall Palhares for the most part, but he'd completely shut Palhares down offensively. A rerun of the Tyron Woodley fight...aka what he always does when he wins.

You have to be an idiot to base your opinion on Shields split decision over Maia. Maias guard has looked like trash and his submission game is non existent just.about these days. Weidman and Shields just napped ontop of Maia and when was the last time Maia really threaten with a submission in MMA.besides Story? Palhares has the.best leg locks in the world out of any grappler, Maia.doesn't.even come close their grappling games aren't apples and oranges to.compare like you just foolishly did..

You're right, Maia has a well versed all around submission game and Palhares is a one trick pony. Shields would make him look bad.

I right. There's a reason the biggest name guys Rousimar has ever beaten are guys like Mike Pierce, Steve Carl, Jeremy Horn... He's not that great, he has one really devastating technique and if you can avoid it you'll more than likely win the fight.

Good for Shields. He'll end his days with a few solid wins, and go out feeling accomplished about his career.
