Yes, it was announced at today's Shooto Korakuen Hall event that the JMMA Shooto legend Rumina Sato is officially retiring from MMA on May 5 at the Shooto Korakuen Hall event.

One of the best! Glad he's retiring though, these Japanese legends don't seem to ever want to hang them up.  Wish Sakuraba would take note of this...

Saku pretty much hung them up and is only competing in pro-wrestling now.

I think he's still doing because he needs the money. He even closed down the Laughter7 gym.

One of my all time favorites, glad to see him retiring though, it's been obvious for years that his fighting days were numbered. Hopefully he can make a solid living with his gym Roots which has quietly become one of the better gyms in Japan. Will he be having a fight or just a ceremony?
