One thing I've learned over all the years I've been watching MMA, if you don't like bad decisions, then don't leave it in the hands of the judges. There are far worse decisions than the one I saw tonight (a couple of them involving Bendo, but not this fight). I personally didn't agree with the decision, but I can't really argue with it either. It was a razor close fight with almost every round being edged out by the slightest of margins, except rounds 1 & 3.

There were only two decisive rounds for both fighters in this fight, and those were rounds 1 &3. Thomson clearly won round 1, and Bendo took round 3, but the other 3 rounds were so damn close that they could've went either way IMO. Like I said, I don't agree with the decision, but I can't argue the decision either.

By my scorecard, I had rounds 1,2, and 5 for Thomson, and rounds 3 &4 were Bendo's, but I'm not a judge sitting cageside, so it is what it is. Though many of us agree that we thought Thomson won the fight, just the posts alone explains to me how Bendo won the fight, and just how close the fight really was. So IMO, not a bad decision or robbery, just another close fight that was too tough to call. When you have fights like that, it always spawns up controversy.

Josh Thomson gave an outstanding performance.  His stock most definitely went UP.  He held his own against one of the best with one hand!  How outstanding is that!

I hope he doesn't retire, but that is his personal decision.  I was disappointed in Benson's performance.  I was happy that they gave the win to Benson, but could see how it could have easily went Josh's way.

Well the vote is pretty decisive, also save to assume that at least 3 or 4 downvotes came from Nomad haters 2 or 3 came from people who think Nomad is a racist 4 or 5 came from people who simply don't like Nomad and 1 from zarog..... or so :P

For reals, it was close don't feel like watching it again tho, so I will forever think it was a Illuminati robbery and no one can change my mind.

I think as whole Thomson is more liked on Tapology then Benson. People will pick Benson to win but then say that they hope they're wrong. This was a close fight no doubt but I do believe Benson won it 48-47. If people on here didn't have such a dislike for Henderson I don't think the votes would be nearly as far apart as they are.

^ The reason most people dislike him is precisely **** like this....he's gotten like 5 decs he could've/should've lost, and he hasn't finished a fight and had meh performances in his entire UFC career. The criticism is valid on points like this...

And everyone keeps bring up that Round 2 was very debatable....Round 5 was even more debatable and every Bendo defender is automatically giving him that round. It could of been 49-46 Thomson, and I could even fathom 48-47 Bendo. But the 49-46 for Bendo obviously shows the judges incompetence once again and they ruined another big fight and Josh' career.

@swick but is it Benson's fault that the judges gave him the nod in some close decisions? That's not his call. He goes out and fights hard and he has got the benefit of the doubt in some fights but blame the judges if you don't agree, not the fighter.

Thomson 48-47 or 49-46 and I don't really think it was close, I'm having a hard time watching MMA sometimes for the judging flaws the sport clearly has. 3 rounds clearly for Thomson in my mind and it shouldn't be considered "close" just because that's 60% of the fight, that 60% of the fight was Thomson's fight and with a broken thumb no less. Honestly, I wanted Josh to win, Bendo has no staying power at LW as long as Pettis is there, he should get that split decision loss to get new blood for the champ. When you lose twice to the champion it's just wasteful to give guys like Bendo the "close" decision, especially a fight that he lost.

I thought Thompson won pretty obviously even though it was close, but Benson Henderson has got God on his side and that is the reason he continues on winning these grueling close 5 round wars. That is the only answer, BELIEVE

so you think that Henderson went easy on him because of his broken hand? How then do you explain that EVERY SINGLE fight he´s had in the UFC has gone exactly the same way? I don´t even know why i´m responding to this ****. My theory is still that you are a 7 year old kid playing at being a sports fan.
