That sucks for Cruz. However, Barao is the rightful champion as is. Personally, I wouldn't have waited this long to make it official. Dude hasn't fought since October of 2011. It shouldn't take 27 months to strip the guy of the belt. The division had to move on.

Terrible run of luck of Dominick. Yeah it wasn't his knee, but could have happened by compensating muscles to protect the knee. As fun as he was to fight, a part of me would rather see him stick to commentating just so he doesn't have to go thru this again.

Okay it's great that they're finally making him the champion regardless of how delayed it is, but wow what a giant shocker Faber gets the title shot.  he deserves it though.    This one will be his 17th title fight, which is just crazy.

Faber is a true warrior will fight anyone on any notice i like that about him and 4 fights a year nobody else is doing that at the highest level right now

Freaking blows. By the time Cruz can fully rehab from a groin tear, get in shape, and go through a full fight camp, he's looking at a return in mid-May at the earliest. I liked watching Cruz, but at this point I don't believe he can ever come back with the same style he had prior to his initial ACL tear. 2 major knee injuries and now a major leg muscle injury.
