This is the rare case of a fighter moving down to his more natural weight class coming off a win. Akhmedov will be much better suited to 170. Was absolutely dwarfed by Perpetuo last night, but managed to rally for the win.

I don't think any WW is currently thinking of Thatch as a "welcoming" opponent. I want Thatch to take the McGregor fast-track. He's ready to test his mettle.

Agreed; I actually want to throw Brandon Thatch to Dong Hyun Kim right away to be quite honest. If the round 1 finish pattern manages to continue, I'd suggest Jake Ellenberger or Carlos Condit (which is unlikely because the welterweight division needs more contenders if GSP beats Hendricks) before a title shot.
However, if Hendricks beats GSP I'd give Thatch more fights because we'd have to wait for the immediate rematch, especially if Hendricks wins via a crazy KO via comeback or in the first round or something.

Although normally, I don't like to see a good prospect rushed too fast, in this case, I hope they grease the skids and let him get some better fighters early.
I'd like to see them let him fight anyone hovering just outside the Top 10 - 15. Kim is too high up on the food chain.
