MMA exists in Poland for about 11-12 years but was not very popular until Pudzianowski debuted at KSW. He is the reason why it became so big. Unfortunately a bit of credit has to go to Marcin Najman (worst MMA fighter ever and one of the most hated people in Poland) who was Pudz's opponent. Mariusz was really hyped by KSW after his first two wins but after Sylvia fight most people realized that he's not that good and will never really achieve anything special and slowly turned their attention to Khalidov. Right now Mamed is almost as popular as Pudz. He's in commercials, on TV shows, has his own energy drink and I won't be surprised to see him in Dancing With The Stars one day.
Yes we can watch UFC live on tv but it's not very popular mainly due to timezones (events in USA and Brazil start around midnight Polish time). Gyms are not in every city but there are quite a lot. The only problem with MMA in Poland is that most fans don't care about anything other than KSW. Even UFC is not that popular unless there is a card with Polish fighter on it. MMA Attack 4 had one of the best if not THE best fightcard ever in Polish MMA but it had to be cancelled because tickets were not selling well and some sponsors backed off.
@Ronwah
I think it starts at 7pm Polish time.

She's 4-0 (3KO, 1SUB), hasn't fought anyone special yet but I have a good feeling about her.
Plus, she's a 135er and pretty so we may be seeing her in the UFC one day ... she doesn't do thong/butt pics so she might take longer than Alexandra Albu ;), but she's def on my "prospects to watch" list.

Back in the bad old days we had to wait until Sunday night at 9pm to watch it on Bravo.

I'm and Englishman living in Israel, so your 1am till 5am is 3am till 7am for me and we work Sundays here too ... so I hope it comforts you that some have it worse :)))
EDIT:: just noticed you're talking about airing it later in other countries (where there are no PPV buys), so strike what I said ... basically what Ronwah said, over here they air it live and then a **** load more times at more humane hours throughout the week too, so you can basically pick when you see it or DVR/Tevo that **** ;)
I personally love watching them live, as tough as it is, so I'm glad I have that option too ... mainly because I know no one here who watches MMA, so I can't grab some mates and some beers and watch the fights as they're supposed to be watched, so I'd rather experience them "with" you dudes on Tapology than watch them alone, in silence due to wife and baby sleeping :)

I also get Cage Warriors and Bellator on two different channels which are included in my cable suite and EFCA on another one of those, so basically I'm kinda covered taking into consideration I live in a country where MMA is almost non-existent.

Sapp is fighting only for the money. When someone pays well then Bob fights.
News about the opponent of Mamed
Mamed Khalidov has four candidates for the opponents. The most likely is Ryuta Sakurai. Besides him, there is still Tomasz Drwal, Jay Silva and Yushin Okami least likely.
Drwal wrote on his facebook fanpage, that KSW made him an offer.
Martin Lewandowski, one of KSW owner wrote on twitter that they negotiate with Okami.
