In all my hypothetical discussions about dream fights, I've never even pictured these two in the same room, nevermind fighting. I think Machida holds a comfortable advantage, but in a five-rounder, it could be an entertaining one.

Seems like there's gonna be an obvious size advantage for Machida here...

Out of all the hypothetical matchups for Diaz, this has to be the worst one.

I doubt it. However, my sources tell me Machida-Penn II is in the works. You heard it here first.

I'd lol pretty hard if Nick won. With that being said, i think he could possibly maybe somehow be able to pull it off. Call me crazy, but i think it's possible.

This is an awful matchup for Diaz.

Machida's bigger, faster and not one to get intimidated by forward pressure, and that's even before we talk about all the spinning **** he could throw against Diaz. I think Diaz gets finished for the first time since Jeremy Jackson if this happens. I doubt it will, though

But from a marketability point of view, this is a dream matchup. This **** would sell.

=============

From the article: ""I wanted Machida to fight Vitor Belfort, but Vitor Belfort is his own matchmaker, apparently," White joked. "He wants to make his own fights."

I'd have to say that Vitor's not making the best case to get that coveted title shot pissing off the boss right and left. Plus, that's totally opposite to what he said on the MMA hour last time he was there. He said it's not all about titles and he's a UFC employee and will fight whoever they put in front of him ... apparently that's everyone he knows he can beat or is not in his weight class therefore won't jump in front of him in line in case of a loss.

If Diaz thought that Condit ran, wait until he fights Machida.

I like this. I would love to see how he'll react to Machida's fighting style.

Machida might not run from Diaz with the size and power difference.

I don't necessarily think of Machida as a runner and I didn't think Condit ran either. Machida is a counterstriker. He will repeatedly let Diaz swing and counter everything. Diaz will be so frustrated at not being able to hit Machida and at Machida for moving a lot and not brawling with him.

I don't get a lot of you people. This could potentially be a fun knockout win for Lyoto Machida but this could also definitely go down as one of the most boring fights of all-time.

Nick Diaz is so...*******...slow...there is literally no way he could beat Lyoto Machida. I'd give myself a better shot than Nick ******' Diaz, **** I'd give Tacos and his 32-0 amateur record a better chance than ******* Nick Diaz.

The potential ***** fit after the fight tho, that would be awesome.

I'm going to have to agree with Anik on this one. I can't envision any way that Nick Diaz wins that fight.
It's not like he has a lot to gain by fighting him either.
