This weekend, pro MMA fighter Martin Grandmont hold an amateur MMA event in the city to raise money for the victims.
In the main event, Virgile Beaulieu choked out Jordan Balmir unconscious at the end of the first round. Surprisingly, they let Balmir wake up and after a long break between round 1 and 2, the fight continued. Balmir eventually won a unanimous decision.

@wake I haven't watched the video but there was a similar story at a local Boston-area event a year or two ago. I think maybe it was a Warrior Nation XFA event where the referee let a choked out fighter get saved by the bell and then wake up and fight the next round. It got picked up by a lot of the major MMA sites and was a big embarrassment to the Mass state athletic commission. The fight was overturned to a no contest, if I remember correctly.
