I think Barnet can outlast Mir in the stand up and maybe even take Mir down  and work some gnp. the only concern I have with Mir is with the TRT I don´t know how much that will help him, but if he drinks from the same juicebox than Vitor I think Barnet is in trouble, other than that Barnet can take this fight by a UD ala Cormier or a TKO

Mir has been very unimpressive ever since the Nog fight in 2011. Looked like he wasn't even trying against DC or JDS.

I am MOST excited for THIS fight.

I don't think Mir's got it in him, where as Barnett is going to be AMPED on the fact he's back in the UFC.

Either way I think it's going to be a decision.

love to see frank further state his claim as the greatest submission artist of all time. and with barnett being one of the best ground fighters himself i expect to mir come out in a tough and exciting ground battle

i love both these guys but i think mir has faced stiffer competition and might pull off the win

I don't think so. I think either Barnett gets a TKO, or it will be a close fight that goes the distance.

I have mixed feelings on Mir and Barnett can be a best. This can really go either way but I'm picking Barnett because he is a metalhead...hehe

Barnett's not a finisher on his feet. Mir's chin may be questionable but I think as long as he lets his hands and feet go there's a good chance he catches Barnett and puts him away with strikes or a sub.

I agree with the trend of the picks. If there is a knockout, think it will be Barnett the one delivering it, but if there's a submission, then Mir will be the one locking it up.

I'm a huge fan of both fighters, but I think that MIr's best days are behind him, while Barnett manages to re-invent and resurge himself in MMA. No matter what, this is an old school HW match-up that I wanted to see after Barnett beat Couture for the HW Championship. After Mir broke Tim Sylvia's arm and became the UFC HW Champion, I was really hoping that I got to see this fight. Well, better late than never!!!!

i can't believe how much smaller mir looks, he looks to be in great shape. i think gettin smashed on the way he did against brock really ****** up his psychology...he thought bigger = better. he was weighing in at 265, now he's down to 248. and i think he was cuttin to make that 265. he looks much better, i expect his cardio to be a lot better and he should be quicker...i picked barnett but i might be changing it

@krazy that was my thought too. I usually wait to see how I'm going to pick a Mir fight after I see him at the weigh ins. Getting fat did nothing for him in his past several fights. Being 240-245 with good speed, agility, quickness and cardio is the way to go in the HW division. Mir looked in good shape but he's just looked bad way too often lately. I'm not crazy about Barnett either but I think he takes this.

@p4p i'm torn, i've never been a big believer in barnett...but mir's biggest weakness is his wrestling. really not sure which way too go. but i'm pretty sure it'll be the wrong way lol

Should be pretty even in the striking, maybe slightly for Mir
The clinch favors Barnett for sure
The takedowns you gotta give to Barnett
Takedown defense however may go to Mir
Toughness and heart for Barnett


I see Barnett getting top position and dominating in the clinch. But a Mir sub is not out of the question.

Its finally happening! I'm very happy about this, wanted so this one for a long time now. 

I think Barnett's going to dominate Mir and show everyone that hes one of the HWs in the world and one of the best of all time.
