Prediction: Marquardt  |  KO/TKO  |  Round 1

This is a very tough fight to pick. Some questions on factors coming into the fight that come to mind. #1. How will the weight cut effect Nate Marquardt coming into this fight? #2. Both fighters have a wrestling and grappling background, but who really is the best overall grappler? #3. If Rick Story wins, does this move him in line for a title shot? 4. If Nate Marquardt wins, will he fight his training partner GSP if the oppurtunity presents itself? I'm pretty sure that Marquardt is a slight favorite coming into this fight, but the big factor in this fight is the weight cut for Marquardt. If he's going to win this fight, he's going to have to put Story away early, and that has proven to be no easy task. I'm going to pick Marquardt by KO/TKO in round 1, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Story get another UD.

I think Marquardt is the better grappler than Story.  I don't think the cut will be to big of a problem. If Story win he still has one or two more wins before a shot. One would have to assume Marquardt would fight GSP for the title if it presents itself because thats the reason he is moving to WW, so he can get a belt.

i dont see how story wins because nate the better grappler then the fight will prolly stand nate has way more power then story

i think i want to take a look at marquardt at the weigh ins. i have changed a couple of picks when i saw both men weigh in. one was couture vs coleman. i had coleman until the weigh ins but once i saw him he looked terrible. he looked really old and something about his body language did not sit well with me. i changed to couture.  i definitely leaning towards nate.

i know what you mean.....i had edwards but stout just looked beastly at the weigh ins so i changed to stout!

also i think story takes this,he's a very bad fighter to be matched up with if your nate seeing as its his first fight at ww

I also think I will go with Story. Nate will likely have a rough weight cut, I have also always thought that Nate is slightly overrated. I think Im going to wait for weigh ins to pick this one

Im probably going to pick Story as well. He held his own on the feet against Alves and he should be able to take Nate down and put him on his back.

Just cuz Nate walks at the same weight as GSP doesn't mean he's going to make the weight so easily. He's been fighting at 185 essentially his whole career and i think the weight cut is going to show it in round 3 when he starts to fade. I'd imagine Story will use his same gameplan as he did against Alves, especially being Sonnen showed the blueprint for smashing Marquardt, but Story isn't Sonnen and i think Nate finally starts to put things together and fighting his fight

The cut won't be a problem for Nate. He's a very very experienced fighter who knows how to cut weight. Story is pretty good and he has a bright future but he is not ready for Nate. Nate is gonna out strike him and if it goes to the ground Nate is stronger and has better jui jitsu. The 3 time middleweight king of Pancrase champion will win.

Hard to ignore the momentum of Rick Story, and who knows how Nate will handle the weight cut, I am going with Story as a slight favorite
