Sperry said in an interview recently that they tried to get Arona but he's currently getting knee surgery (aka banging beach babes and surfing). Hearing rumors that they have been in talks with a lot of guys that are unhappy with their current contracts, supposedly some big players too. Whether they get them or not is of course a different story. Coker has said repeatedly that he would lend him Bellator guys as well and seems to be keen on doing a shared fighter system like Strikeforce and DREAM had.

Idk how well a new Sakakibara promotion will go down but he at least has a good handle on entertainment.

@Live2Wrestle Very interesting. I'm surprised Arona has been inactive from MMA for so long. I would have figured he would have returned by now.

I would assume that Sakakibara would try and raid DEEP, ONE FC, and other various Japanese/Asia-based promotions for talent, no?

Also, I heard Kron Gracie is talking with Sakakibara. Any truth to that?

With Fedor and Gabi Garcia under his roster, who do you guys think will make the jump over to Sakakibara's new organization?

I feel like either Aoki, Couture, or Kharitonov will be one of the next big signings for Sakakibara to announce.

Fingers crossed that it is Randy Couture. I don't care that he is 52, Couture vs Emelianenko would still be an awesome fight to see; just for the mere fact that it has been talked up for so many years. It would be great to finally see it happen.

According to Bloody Elbow, Sakakibara is dropping some hints on who he is looking for as Fedor's opponent for the NYE show in Japan; with the primary hint as being someone who will be one of the next big names for MMA's future (and will most likely the primary face for Sakakibara's organization once Fedor retires again). Wonder who they will bring in?

Also, it would seem that Sakakibara is trying to invite a big name VIP to the event. That VIP being none other than...

...Judo black belt and current Russian President Vladimir Putin.
