So, I thought it might serve a purpose to create a thread for all the other contributions to each other's lives that don't fit anywhere else.
Do you have something that would enrich the community culturally? Maybe dance, comedy, nutritional, inspirational, arresting visuals? But please let's keep this positive, and appropriate to the general public.
Maybe a video clip of a movie, broadway show, highly unusual, utterly creative, a cutting edge piece of information, a new computer application, or something that would make someone's life better or richer.

@Bill Burgess Do you like comedy?
If so, dig up Blackadder, Only Fools and Horses and Fawlty Towers on Netflix.

I'll happily argue that Father Ted is better than all 3 of those British sitcoms that @grizzly listed though. I'm not sure how far I'd get though seeing as I have no idea how well known it is over there.

Frank Sinatra
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Sinatra
Francis Albert "Frank" Sinatra was an American singer and film actor. Beginning his musical career in the swing era with Harry James and Tommy Dorsey, Sinatra found unprecedented success as a solo artist from the early to mid-1940s after being signed to Columbia Records in 1943. Being the idol of the "bobby soxers", he released his first album, The Voice of Frank Sinatra in 1946. His professional career had stalled by the 1950s, but it was reborn in 1953 after he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in From Here to Eternity. He signed with Capitol Records in 1953 and released several critically lauded albums (such as In the Wee Small Hours, Songs for Swingin' Lovers!, Come Fly with Me, Only the Lonely and Nice 'n' Easy). Sinatra left Capitol to found his own record label, Reprise Records in 1961 (finding success with albums such as Ring-a-Ding-Ding!, Sinatra at the Sands and Francis Albert Sinatra & Antonio Carlos Jobim), toured internationally, was a founding member of the Rat Pack and fraternized with celebrities and statesmen, including John F. Kennedy.
His small group of pals included Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Joey Bishop & Peter Lawford. The media dubbed them, The Rat Pack. Frank was justifiably known for his careful musical phrasing, impeccable intonation, rigid loyalty to the composer's melody line, and avoidance of fads, trends and contrivance. He chose the best musicians and orchestras to back him.
He initially supported the Democratic Party and the Kennedys but when Bobby Kennedy went after organized crime, he switched to the Republican Party. He was called ol' blue eyes, and The Chairman of the Board.

Everyone seems to love Father Ted, but I've just never dug it. Maybe I should it give it another watch as there's been some sitcoms like OFAH and Green Wing which I've liked on the second watch.
I love sitcoms. I've watched a bunch of British and American sitcoms.
My favorite British sitcoms are the Office, the IT Crowd, Not Going Out, Peep Show, Knowing Me, Knowing You... With Alan Partridge, I'm Alan Patridge, Fawlty Towers, the Thin Blue Line, Only Fools and Horses, Blackadder, Mr. Bean, Coupling and Green Wing.
My favorite American sitcoms are the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the Office, Parks and Recreation, the Big Bang Theory, Seinfeld, Arrested Development and Better Off Ted.
I highly recommend you guys check some of those out if you haven't.

But those gadgets comparison? Wow! It could only be shown by a young pup.
I remember when the latest stuff was microwave ovens, VCRs, phone answering machines, TV remote controls, cordless phones, bank ATMs & bank cards, banks stayin' open past 3PM, cable TV and its multi-channel menus, and department store layaway plans.
I was one of the earliest MCI people and I did many people's friends and circles. I used to have a spiral binder and written down all the phone companies, like ATT, MCI, Sprint, dime-line, and about 5 others. I had all the features written down, and assisted lots of people who were overwhelmed by the barrage of new technologies.
I remember when Proquest came along and digitalized all the major newspapers. I no longer had to spend weekends sitting at the Palo Alto Library microfilm reader, feeding it a roll of quarters equalling $20.
Now I can do most of my research from the comfort of my own home, sitting at my computer, compliments of Proquest, paperofrecord, google, google news archives, WorldVital Records, Kansas City Mid-Continent Library, Baseball Magazine, Sporting Life, Latter Day Church archival records, and so many other databases.
I was one of the early Napster 'outlaws'.
