I seriously think this is just Anderson Silva's idea of fun ... he drops these little hints every time he speaks to Dana and then watches as he brain-farts them out and the world goes crazy ...

Best troll ever :)

I agree that Anderson Silva likes to toy with the world.  He well knows how the world hangs on his every word, and it obviously amuses him and he thoroughly enjoys being such a center of attention.

It is equally clear that he wants the GSP fight.  He has said so many times.  He wants the attention, the win, the prestige it would bring, the money, the fame and glory, etc.

I think he could be serious about dropping down to WW, although I am a little sceptical.  He has seen Marquardt, Aaron Simpson, Demian Maia and Patrick Cote all drop down.

How his long, lanky body could handle the stress is something I don't really understand.

I'm pretty sure that if Silva drops to 170 GSP will fight him ... he's not allergic to money, you know ...

I don't think that people that are where GSP and Silva are really get "scared" to fight other fighters ... they're both competitors who would love to gauge their "place in history" by fighting each other. GSP just didn't want to do it with fighting Silva at 185, which is understandable.

Especially given the fact that even if he loses to Silva, it's not anything to be ashamed of, it'll only solidify what is already the popular opinion that Silva and not him is the GOAT. But if he wins ... well, suddenly he's the GOAT.

So for GSP it would be a nothing to lose and everything to gain situation if they fight at WW (and by "everything" I mean lots and lots of $$$).

your name should be foolsgold. ^^ gsp will never fight andy. i have seen many interviews where george says its the fear of losing that keeps him up at night. this is a definite loss. he knows he can beat diaz, hendricks and other natural WW's when he is at his best.

Man hope Andy isn't trolling, drops to 170, takes GSP's belt like a boss and then fights JBJ.

Yeah that would be epic and if I'm not mistaken he fought at 170 before.

I think he knows GSP still won't fight him, even at 170, and this is his way to expose him.

Anderson's a great troll, but if he's being genuine about dropping down to fight GSP, I'm very interested.  People say Anderson's too big for GSP, but if Anderson's dropping down there's no excuse.  Anderson would be the much older one who's cutting a lot more weight.  If he beat GSP at 170 there'd be no doubt that Anderson is the better fighter.

With that said, I don't think this fight will ever happen.  I'm done getting my hopes up.

Anderson Silva versus George St Pierre would be a great fight but it seem to me that GSP doesn't want the fight. I don't know why I think he has a good chance of beating Anderson Silva. =/

Anderson used to fight at 168. He has made it before, but he was much younger. He's a smart dude though. I can see him making it. It's not like Anthony Johnson trying to make 170

I think it's fairly obvious that GSP is not enthusiastic about fighting Silva.  He has gone into detail about the complications of moving up and staying there.

But . . . if Silva makes it easy for him and COMES DOWN, COMES TO HIM, well I think GSP would have absolutely no way to duck him.  What excuse could he possibly come up with?  NONE!  He would have to take the fight even if he didn't relish it.  Would simply have to.

And he would have absolutely nothing to lose!  Everyone would expect him to lose!  GSP would be the decided underdog.

But I think GSP would have excellent chances to beat Silva, provided he could keep the fight on the ground.  Silva is twice the fighter on his feet.  But GSP is a ground master.  And Silva is not that hard to take down, and GSP is one of the best ever at down exactly that.

But there is a difference between taking Silva down, and keeping him there.  GSP is not as big and strong as Chael Sonnen.  So, while he could take Silva down at will, I'm not sure he could keep him down.

If Silva comes down, the fight happens.  Simple as that.  No way around it.

Agreed, Bill. Most GSP/Anderson talks have been catchweights or GSP going to 185. Anderson has fought at 170 before. If he can make it, he should do it. And GSP would have to take that fight.
