I used to think he just didn't give a rat's ass, but now I'm starting to think the guy's just too dumb to get it.

First you complain you're not being payed enough and then you go out of your way to **** up the things that make your name "payable" ...

If he becomes too hard to deal with he's not going to get the big fights.

Big fights = Big money.

How hard is it to get that very simple equation through his thick skull???

If the UFC feel they can't market him the way they know how to market a fighter how are they going to pay him the big money once his current contract is up (taking into consideration that due to his loss to Condit and most likely ass whooping from GSP he's going to be less of a commodity than he was as Strikeforce bad-boy champ calling out GSP).

This is starting to take on the overtones of a Greek tragedy.

Put in Nick Diaz with his reputation for missing media events to promote his fights / career.

Put in Dana White with HIS reputation for creating controversy and spinning all his feuds to put himself in the right.

Put these 2 characters in the same event and you have a prescription for chaos.  Dana is recently in a panic to discredit people.  Couture, Cyborg, Tito Ortiz, whoever.

There is an old saying.  The sadist and the masochist always seem to find each other.

There is another saying.  The fool and his money are soon parted.  In fact, it is a wonder they ever got together in the first place.

Seems like Nick and Dana are going to validate more cliches than ever before.  And maybe start some new ones to boot.

I wonder if Nick has visited a psych, either he has some kind of anxiety or he doesnt care about his career much.

Nick is one of my favorite fighters and I hate to see him toss his career away like he has lately

If Nick Diaz finds a way to throw away everything he ever wanted and worked for will be the waste of the decade.  And the most preventable.  Such a shame.  So much waste.

In my opinion I think Nick Diaz is just social awkward. But hey you right it is sad to see him do these sorts of stuff just wish he could take it seriously for once.

The feeling I get after reading the article is that Nick probably let Dana know that he'd miss the interviews.  Probably a scheduling conflict or something that got Dana's tights in a wad. No way Dana lets Nick get away with any more no shows

Last time when Diaz blew off the presser Dana said he didn't care if Diaz showed up and didn't say a word. He just said he has to be there and that's all he asked. Nick showed up to the presser and was actually pretty normal. The UFC is pushing their luck if they think they are going to follow him around while he trains. Dana should just be happy Diaz did the presser and be done with it.

Well, Dana obviously did care if he took Diaz out of a title fight.

Yeah he cared that he wasn't there but he didn't care whether or not Diaz participated.

“There is no ‘crew rolling around Stockton,’ and Nick did not ‘miss’ three interviews.

”In fact, several earlier dates were arranged without Nick’s knowledge and with no notice to Nick. When Nick learned what had happened, I assisted him in arranging a date and time directly (Thursday, February 14). Nick arrived early and was in good spirits at that February 14 date — the one and only date he knew about in advance. Nick requires things to be done in an organized and orderly manner. That is the kind of professional he is.” Just another reason why we love Nick Diaz.

Words of Nick's lawyer.
