Looking at the hw division who would be a good match up for Junior? I think DC is a great option. Other fighters possibly are Josh Barnett, loser of Overeem/Silva, Kongo. Thoughts?

Let him fight Josh or loser of Overeem/Silva. Judging by the way he lost to Cain the second time, he might need 2 fights before he gets another title shot. He got dominated that bad.

I like the Werdum idea if he gets past Nog. I don't think Hunt should fight JDS at this point. Maybe if JDS loses his next fight then I could see that.

Hmmm. You don't think Hunt's a good idea but you do think Kongo, who Hunt KOed, is?? I think JDS/Hunt would be a slugfest. I'd pay for it.

@trae  Are you serious?  Another title shot after 2 fights?  Why would that be justified?  After all, who would care if he doesn't change, evolve and improve his game?

Junior just suffered the most complete, comprehensive, dramatic, humiliating and devastating demolition of a title holder since Shogun vs. Jones and Franklin vs. Silva.

Rematches should never be automatic.  The world must see change before they would be interested in seeing Junior fight Cain again.

Junior must improve his striking defense, his cardio, expand his roundedness.  Do I think Junior Dos Santos is capable of improving his fighting?  Yes.  Will it be easy for him to do?  No.  Does he have to do it before he deserves another chance to fight for the title?  Of course.

I think he should get whoever for a comeback/confidence recovery fight. Most likely the loser of Bigfoot/Overeem, but could also be Kongo (who gave Cain his toughest fight to date - getting caught isn't a tough fight), Hunt would be cool, Travis Browne too. It doesn't really matter, if JDS' confidence hasn't been shattered he'll probably blast through any one of them.

After that, he should fight Cormier. DC is a smaller more raw version of Velasquez who trains with him. If JDS can beat him, it shows he may be able to hang with Cain, if he can't, well he has no business rematching anyway.

Maybe Junior needs to rethink his approach.  Perhaps he should learn to wrestle, attack with submissions off his back, the clinch game, dirty boxing, boxing defense, deepen his gas tank.

All I've heard about him is that he is the most technical boxer in the division.  If he is so technical, how come he couldn't block the punches coming in?  Where was his head movement?  His footwork?  There are so many things he could have done against Cain that he did not do or attempt.

Before I want to see a rematch, I need to see some evolution in his all-around game.  Why didn't he kick?  Or check kicks?

Honestly, i wanna see JDS fight Roy Nelson again,it would make sense because JDS couldn't  put Big Country away and he's coming off Two nice KO's of Mitrione  and Herman.  on the flip side i kinda want him to fight big foot to,

I think that JDS will get another title shot after one more fight as Dana has already said he wants to see it. But when it comes down to who he will fight, I don't think the timings right for the loser of Overeem/Silva so I would say either Werdum, Nelson, or Browne. Personally I would like to see Nelson JDS again, if Nelson is clever and doesn't trade with JDS and goes down the BJJ route like he did earlier in his career I think the fight would be very close.

Nelson has very under rated BJJ, but then again so does JDS so i dont know if either one would tap the other, but Nelson is smart and he can come up with a good game plan and he has the chin to take some shots while he puts his gameplan into effect

I don't know why Nelson's BJJ always gets brought up.Everyone knows he has it but chances are we wont ever see it.

hmm well it appears my chances of seeing Nelson vs. JDS 2 went from slim to none, but atleast he'll still fight big foot when he loses to overeem, or vice versa if Big foot pulls a upset.

JDS has a lot of good options.

Barnett if he wins his last Strikeforce fight would be cool.

I wouldn't give him Cormier because Cormier won't fight Cain if he wins.

Travis Browne is on the brink of the top ten and also coming off a loss.  He would be a good match.

Mark Hunt if he beats Struve would be cool, but not Struve, even if he beats Hunt.

Kongo doesn't have a fight booked.  He's always getting booked in these types of fights anyway. So he's a good possibility.

Then there's Rothwell if he beats Gonzaga....Russow if he beats Jordan...Todd Duffee...The winner of Schaub vs Johnson...Pat Barry....

Any of those would fit the bill.
