Happy retirement, Hardonk. His fights were normally entertaining and this seems like the right way to step away from the sport. Unlike the Kevin Randleman situation where his body is wrecked, Hardonk is probably just fine and with his gym he has a good plan in place for life after fighting.  Well done.

“I love to share and help people accomplish their goals. I think it’s something I always had in me, but I put it away because I put myself first and I wanted to enjoy this lifestyle and fight and compete and test myself,” said Hardonk. “But taking that year off and focusing more on that other side and that teaching and coaching aspect of myself, I found that I get as much satisfaction from that as from fighting itself.”

Couldnt agree more! Sometimes its best to just walk away.  I hate seeing fighters have to crawl away because they have stayed in to the point where it ruins them.  I hope hardonks gym treats him well and hes able to train a future champ

+1 for you Master.. I like how you posted this thread and intro'd it.  Hardonk was exciting and I enjoyed his fights.  Hardonk and Ricardo set themselves up very nicely just like you mentioned there.  Good luck to him moving forward.
