Two really tough dudes on one hand you have Wineland who just recently have a KO to Jorgensen who is not a slouch opponent, but on the other hand Pickett also has a very well rounded game to combat Wineland

I think as of right now I will go with Pickett due to the simple fact he's better in the pocket (IMO) than Wineland is, and I think alot of  the fight will take place there. I give the striking edge to Wineland though, I don't know if Pickett can get it to the ground, but if he can I think he has the clear advantage there. So right now I'll go with Pickett, but I guarantee I will change my pick atleast 5 times leading up to  the fight.

Great Fight.

In my opinion this is one of the hardest fights to pick on the whole card. I may change my pick eventually but for now I'm going with Wineland. This is mostly because Pickett was repeatedly taken down and controlled on the ground by Jorgensen. However, Wineland demolished him and surprisingly outwrestled him. I think Wineland is very underrrated considering he wasn't even taken down once by Benavidez in their fight and Faber struggled to get him down and only managed to do it a few times.

Much agree bman, but Pickett did show some improvements with his overall ground game against Menjivar and he submitted Damacio Page. Since his loss to Jorgensen, Pickett's only loss has been to current UFC Interim BW Champion Renan Barao. Wineland has been hot and cold his entire career. There's some fights where he is absolutely brilliant and fights the perfect fight, but there's other fights where he just seems like he's completely out of his element. Against Chase Beebe, Wineland was taken down and controlled for 5 rounds, and his ground game against Rani Yahya was absolutely atrocious, but then you look at his fights with Benavidez and Faber, he held his own pretty good, and showed some great improvements in his overall game against Scott Jorgensen and George Roop.

It's a very tough fight to pick indeed, and there's a part of me that's saying that this fight is Wineland's for the taking. Wineland is tough as nails, has improved in his overall fight game, and has some very good striking of his own, but Pickett has shown some brilliance, heart, and improvement in his last couple of fights.

I don't know if this fight will hit the ground with these two fighters, but then again you never know. I think that Wineland is better in grappling department, and is a more technical striker, but Pickett can end the fight with one punch. That was proven against Yves Jabouin.

I think that Wineland has a better chin than Jabouin and better technique than Pickett on the feet, so if he can keep the distance on the feet, he should be able to pick Pickett apart to earn himself either a late round TKO or UD. If Pickett is going to win, he's got to get inside, put pressure on Wineland, and end the fight early. If Wineland gets into a rhythm, then it could be a long night for Pickett.

Very good point AllHailKrull. Wineland has accurate striking with great technique that can also end a fight with one punch. He proved that with his KO of Scott Jorgensen. It's going to be a great fight no matter what happens, and after your post, I think I'm going with Wineland by 2nd or 3rd KO/TKO, or UD.

I love the quick turnaround time between fights. Seems like I just saw Pickett KO Jabouin last week.

Haha @Soccer, I think if this thing goes to the ground Wineland obviously takes it. But every fight starts standing up and that the absolute last place I want to be with Brad Pickett is standing within striking range. But I won't be mad if I get this pick wrong! :)
