Thought this would be a great forum to talk and spread and receive knowledge on international Brazilian Jui Jitsu.

For me, Brazilian Jui Jitsu has had an unexplainable positive impact on my life. Use this thread to post videos, stories or any questions you have about Jui Jitsu. For starters watch this excellent documentary on Alliance BJJ NYC founder Fabio Clemente. Rolled up is a great show. Its Budo Jake going around the legendary gymds around the world and exploring the culture of the particular BJJ in that area.

Enjoy!

Sweet thread. I've trained for two years this November under a guy who has a bunch of friends in Brazil. He knows a lot of the old school Brazilian Top Team guys, and received his black belt from a DLR black belt. He's a cool guy, a bunch of us go watch the UFC PPV's together, which is cool too.

@Prod I find there is a unique bond with your BJJ team - definitely more respectful and enjoyable to be around than some of my friends ive had for a longer time.

@nik/jitz we definitely have a bond, especially with some of the guys who have trained consistently for a long period of time. i'm not really sure why. a lot of people will join, train for a few months, then slowly move away from it, but once you train for consistently for six-eight months, then you're just part of the family. i couldn't imagine leaving it, which is something i've had to think about due to financial reasons. luckily, i don't need to do that right now.

Had a good day of training today. Rolled with a judo BB from Argentina, and triangled him twice. But, anytime he passed my guard, i had absolutely no hope. It was like he weighed 100 pounds more than he actually did. Anyone ever roll with someone like that?
