I've watched pro wrestling since I was a kid and I still enjoy it.I know most mma fans are very anti pro wrestling but I enjoy the storylines and athletic abilities of the performers. I was just wondering what everyones feelings were about professional wrestling

Got no problem with it.

Its an entirely different beast. Believe it or not, yes I do realise its scripted entertainment and despite that I still enjoy it. Its larger than life and its, essentially, a violent opera. You can't compare them.

Considering all the ******** that's thrown at MMA as a whole its laughable that MMA fans judge fans of pro wrestling.

SRA.. aren't you on the WWE Games IGN Boards i see when lurking around The WWE game boards

Anyways, yes i am a big Pro wrestling fan. some people laugh at me, but theres nothing wrong at all with liking Pro Wrestling when being an MMA Fan

Its just that i cant stand the WWE PG Crap, and the matches WWE Puts on nowadays and its predictable crap. i do however appreciate a good technical, and high flying matches. But to get them nowadays its indies, japan, TNA or ROH. Nowadays WWE is all about Mic Work, stupid segments and half naked women prancing around Except Beth and Natalya

rofl yes I do post on IGN, I'm Some_Random_Aussie, but most of my time on the Smackdown Board is spent in their off topic Community Thread. I've made friends there, more or less the only thing that keeps me there. There are a couple of other boards on IGN I post on.

Haven't bought the game in a couple of years (likely wont buy it this year either) and I haven't actively followed the WWE in months.

I still love pro wrestling.  Watching footage from the Attitude era or the old ECW days never gets old.  Could watch RVD and Jerry Lynn fight all day long.

I've been trying to follow WWE for the last few months, but it's just not the same.  The only reason I still try is because I hope that some day it can lose it's G rated feel and maybe bring back some of the magic from the 90s or very early 2000s.  Now when you watch you can see parents holding up their little kids in the crowd who aren't even big enough to see over the damn fence.

At least WWE divas are hotter than ever, so there's something they're doing right.

It's difficult to contemplate the level of mentality to be amused or entertained by people who pretend to fight but practice choreography.

But then again, we have The 3 Stooges, Gilligan's Island, I Love Lucy, Alf, Benny Hill, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Bridezillas, Jerry Springer, Ricki Lake, Maury, Jersey Shore, Manswers, America's Funniest Home Videos and Bad Girls Club.

One of the practitioners of choreography won the UFC Heavyweight Title. Overlooking the athleticism, skill, risk, and physicality involved in wrestling is about as bad as thinking the whole thing is 100% real.

That's like saying watching **** or strippers is as good as having sex becuase of the athleticism, and skill. What i'm supposed to enjoy seeing or participating in is not actually happening. **** that.

why not choreagraph basketball games? BEcause that's not a sport, that's a dress-up play.

Hey, so you hate **** and wrestling. That's fine man. Also, basketball games are technically choreographed, it's called coaching, positions, and assignments. All sports have them.

Actually, all sports are fake including basketball and MMA. It's just that they're better actors. For example, there's no way David Stern allows LeBron to remain ringless again.

Do I watch sitcoms and movies? Yes. Do any of these feature men in ******** costumes making believe that they are practicing some form of martial art of sport? No. I really, really, really don't understand the appeal. There is a lot more to my abhorrence than just the fact that it isn't a real sporting event.
