Newest addition to the list of The Curse, Flyweight Demetrious Johnson, AKA Mighty Mouse, is out with an injury.  He must have surgery to repair a hernia.  It remains to be seen how long he will be sidelined for.

The only connection is that once fighters used to **** themselves up fighting injured and shortening their careers because they had no other choice and now they can afford to pull out when injured. That's why there are more injury related fight scraps since the UFC insured their fighters and pay their medical bills. 

This is a good thing. You don't want fighters ending their careers because they made an injury worse by keeping on training and fighting on those injuries.

You have to remember that back then, sponsors payed less and the big sponsors didn't come near this sport so the fighters made much less money de facto, therefore couldn't afford to miss out on a fight even if they had a ****** up knee.

I've said before that most fighters want to fight if they can, because if they get injured in a camp, they still have to pay their camp members, they still have their bills to pay and they don't make the show/win/OTN bonus money and more importantly the sponsor money for the show. So "faking" an injury or pulling out for "less if an injury" than they used to (this thread is basically accusing cage fighters of becoming more ******* than they used to be) doesn't even make sense.

If there are one or two fighters that abuse this every now and then to "avoid" a matchup (people who are scheduled to fight Glover tend to get injured more frequently than others) then I say it's not that big of a problem. Those fighters will eventually lose because if you're afraid of one guy you're never going to be champ and eventually start losing or they will eventually get that matchup because if Silva/Shelby have a boner for a matchup it'll eventually happen.

I like Bill too, but this thread should be put to sleep. It was in a coma for a while, but for some reason Bill still keeps bumping it every time someone gets injured.

Bill, how about start a new thread about injuries without the accusations and insinuations if you want to keep tab on fighter's injuries.

@ct & yoss  Somehow, you have gotten the wrong idea about this thread.  It is not my position or the thread's position that anyone is faking an injury.

I posted those posts because they are relevant, but they are a theory.  I am not endorsing them as a fact that the injuries are not authentic and genuine.

This thread is simply a notice of the fighter's who get injured and I'm not endorsing any theory.

Got it now, guys?  I may have posted those theories as if I agreed with them but that is simply not the case.
