@ben Even if they gave Diaz the decision, he still would have been suspended and the fight most likely would have been changed to a NC.  So either way they wouldn't have fought.

Yeah p4pgoat, you bring up your facts about how he`s an awesome finisher and then what happens? GSP takes guys to a decision. And of course you would assume I don`t like the guy b/c you have nothing logical to say, hence why you tip-toed around what I said the whole time. Put this through your head, I could care less about him or what happens in his fights. I just think it`s absurd for you to call people ignorant for thinking his next fight will go to a decision, and I don`t need to insult you, you insult yourself everytime you post.

his last 4 fights have gone to decision. picking the next one via decision is just a good pick, nothing more nothing less.

I can not agree that GSP's fights are boring.  He dominates his opponents so completely, that some people can't appreciate just how talented and well-rounded he is.  GSP is one of the few fighters who is in a position to dictate just where his fights will happen.  On the feet or the ground.

I think Condit will play it safer than GSP ever did.  He will be guided by Greg Jackson to try to keep the fight on their feet.  But GSP, of course, will completely anticipate this game-plan, since he knows Jackson's head so well.  So, consequently, GSP will take Condit down within 20 seconds of the bell.

The fight will be determined by GSP's better wrestling skills.  He is bigger than Carlos, so Carlos will not be able to push him off.  The only possible way that Carlos can have any chance at all is if GSP's injury affects his ability to shoot, or if it bothers him in any significant way.

I think that GSP will have something to prove to his critics and will show more aggression that previously.  I think he may try for the submission, but even more likely, GSP will go for the ground and pound and be so ferocious and violent that the ref will feel the need to rescue Carlos.  I see it going to GSP via violent Ground & Pound.  And there will be little Carlos will be able to do about it once he's in GSP's clutches on his back.

If Carlos can avoid the shoot and take-down, he will run away like a dismayed virgin.  Much worse than his running from Diaz.  But GSP will be a Huntsman and stalk him and track him like Dog the Bounty Hunter.

And when he catches him, the take-down will be epic.

Cool story bro but I still can't see GSP finishing

Everyone thought he would against Koscheck because he would be so furious after Kos disrespected him so much.

Instead he jabbed his way to a UD,the doctor almost stopped the fight because of Koscheck's eye yes but GSP was happily cruising up until and after that point.

I have a feeling the injury will affect Georges mentally.I mean anyone recall how much that eye scratch affected him during his fight with Shields? Greg Jackson had to basically tell him to man up.

I will be picking GSP even though Condit is one of my favorite fighters.

If his injury starts to affect GSP, he will be sure to take it down.  Like when a squirrel runs up a tree at the slightest fear.  He will take Carlos down, and being bigger and stronger, will dominate him on the mat.  He will go for the ground and pound.

And Carlos will be helpless to push off the bigger and stronger and fear-driven GSP.

While I respect Bills opinion I'm going to stay firm to mine that GSP fights are generally no longer exciting. I don't really have any beef though, just when people say 'oh but THIS time he's going to finish because..' followed by

- Hardy isn't on his level
- He's dominated x, y and z who were all tough fighters
- He's finished loads of fights
- (And the recent one of) His knee injury is going to make him hungrier to fight and he's going to finish

He couldn't finish Hardy with a fully locked armbar.
He couldn't finish Koscheck with 1 eye.

He won't finish Condit.

I have given up all hope of GSP finishing a fight.

If I was Condit I would use the kick and run technique to try and mess with GSP's knee because I dont think he will react to it well

I'm not saying Condit will win but he's much more suited to fight GSP than his previous opponents

I mean

Koscheck: Nowhere near the level of GSP when it comes to striking so gets tooled on the feet
Shields: Same thing
Hardy: Barely any Wrestling and very little threat with his guard so got dominated on the ground
Alves: GSP seemed to better in all areas really

Condit can stand with GSP easily and although Georges can take him down,Condit has a very solid guard.Am I saying Condit can sub him? No,but Carlos is far from helpless if it hits the ground as Bill is pointing out.

Carlos has a much better guard than Hardy and GSP couldn't even finish him.

Condit has KO power. WE KNOW. GSP has KO power. He just doesn't use it. He opens people up like pinatas with the jab. With a jab! GSP is more technically sound, quick, and athletic. He will pick Condit apart en route to a Unanimous Decision. Count on it

You guys do realize Condit has never been KOed right? Subbed? Yes he has early in his career (last time in 2006). If GSP wins, I would say its about an 90ish% chance it will be by decision. GSP on the other hand has only lost by being finished. I would say if Condit wins it will be about a 1%-5% chance it will be by decision.
