Prediction: correct Machida   correct KO/TKO   correct Round 2

Bader should have been able to come up with a more sensible game-plan than just dilly-dally on the outside and get picked apart and then run in with his face unprotected.

He should have planned to wrestle.  And to get in to do that, he should have come in with his hands over his head, to let his hands absorb any punches coming in, then grab Machida and dragged him down.

Once on the ground, Bader might have had a chance to do something.  Control his opponent, try some ground and pound or submissions.  He chose the worse possible strategy and played right into his opponents hand.  He deserved to lose with that poor planning.  You can't beat world-class fighters with piss-poor game-plans.  Bader fought like a fool without an idea in his head.

He got frustrated and ran in on one of the best counter punchers in the game, and paid for it.

Calling Bader a fool without a gameplan is naive.

Machida is a terrible matchup for Bader.  Bader does not have the physical tools or skills to beat Machida.  It has nothing to do with being a fool or having a lack of a gameplan.  The best gameplan in the world would not have helped him.

Bader's issue was the fact he thought that 'elite' karate fighter he brought into his camp leading up to the fight would emulate Machida and he was wrong. Bader really did look lost out there, he couldnt do anything.

Machida reminded me a lot of Anderson Silva in this fight.  He was absolutely relaxed, and when he saw his opportunity, it was devastating.

If Bader was really that outmatched, then maybe he shouldn't even have been in there with someone over his head.

Maybe they should have paired him up with someone like Vera or Thiago Silva again.  Someone more on his own competitive level.

I still believe that if he had covered up his head in his attempt to get in close enough to wrestle, he might not have gotten nailed on the way in.  He chose futile tactics.  He needed to wrestle, not stand and bang.

Not sure he was outclassed, his mistake and Machidas perfect strike and it was lights out. It can happen to anyone in mma.
That being said, Machida looked great and im glad he'll be getting the title shot.
I enjoyed this event more than last 2 ppv's combined.

First time I've ever accidentally clicked the wrong side that I know of and it had to be a UFC event that was a perfect that cost me a second straight top 3 UFC card finish :/

I was probably distracted by Bob Sapp's luxurious pose.

Drops Bader like a bowling pin, but gets no love with the KO of the night. Mach and Swick should both have gotten it.

Nearly Flawless

Prediction: correct Machida   wrong Decision

The more I think about it, the more I feel that that was one of the most impressive displays of both karate, accuracy, power and MMA that I have ever seen. His timing and defense was perfect, and he knocked out a solid wrestler with power who had never been knocked out before.

And to think some of his family wanted him to retire.  This fight has solidified my opinion of him, if it wasn't already.
