I think it´s kinda funny how I´ve seen many tapologist saying  over and over again that Sonnen wil win this fights and that he is better and all kinds of pro Sonnen talk, but I haven´t seen any of them making a bet about it except Fresno....

Here's the facts on the first Silva/Sonnen fight.

Fact #1. For 4 1/2 rounds Chael Sonnen outpointed, outstruck, outlanded, and did more damage than any other fighter in the UFC that has faced Anderson Silva combined. This includes such great MWs like Nate Marquardt, Dan Henderson, Yushin Okami, Vitor Belfort, and Rich Franklin. -------- Final thought on this fact ------- Chael Sonnen was at his best, and had one of his greatest fights of his career.

Fact #2. The post-fight drug screen came back that Chael Sonnen tested positive for PEDs, and he was suspended for 6 months because of it. -------- Final thought on this fact ------- Chael Sonnen was on steroids for that fight.

Fact #3. Anderson Silva sustained a rib injury. Whether it happened prior to, or during the fight, at some point Anderson Silva sustained a rib injury, and was pretty much fighting at diminished capacity. ------- Final thought on this fact ------- Anderson Silva wasn't in the best shape for or during this fight.

Fact #4. Anderson Silva was having a very bad fight. Nothing was going the way he wanted it to go, he could barely put together any combinations, and was actually getting knocked down by Sonnen at many different times on the feet. It was one of Anderson's worst performances of his career. -------Final thought on this fact ------- Anderson Silva had one of the worst performances of his career.

Fact #5. Anderson Silva took one of the worst beatings of his career, and didn't sustain any cuts, and barely had any swelling on his face, while Silva was landing fewer strikes from the bottom, and Sonnen had cuts over both eyes, and admitted that he was having trouble seeing from all the blood going into his eyes. -------Final thought on this fact ------- Though Chael Sonnen outpointed Anderson Silva, Silva was doing more visible damage from the bottom.

Fact #6. No matter which way we look at it, no matter how many ways you have a different take on what happened, and no matter how much damage from the top, no matter how much control Sonnen had throughout the fight, Anderson Silva still scored the triangle choke, and got the submission. There is no column in a fighter's resume for "Almost Victories" and "Close Fights". There's only Wins - Losses - Draws. ------- Final thought on this fact ------- Anderson Silva still won the fight.

Overall final thought says this ------- Chael Sonnen had the best perfromance of his career, tested positive for steroids, did more damage to Anderson Silva than any other fighter has in the UFC that Anderson Silva has faced. Anderson Silva was injured, had one of the worst performances of his career, and though Chael Sonnen outpointed Silva, Silva was still doing more visible damage from the bottom, Anderson Silva still won the fight.

I don't know if Chael Sonnen had exactly the best performance of his career, it's just a bad style match up if you really dissect the footage.

I'll post about it in my Sonnen/Silva extensive breakdown tomorrow I think. You'll just have to wait for my 2 cents :)

I think the only way Anderson wins this fight is if he fights orthodox stance.
