If you're tall and lanky like me, yeah--you have to real careful of rotor cuff issues. We're not really built to lift big weight....that's why powerlifters are pretty much all short stocky brick ****houses.
Start in cable weights if you want to add mass, it's pretty easy to **** yourself up lifting free weight if you haven't developed strength in your tendons/are not lifting properly.
One final thing; muscles aren't health. Human beings aren't meant to look like racehorses.
If your goal is to get healthy and live long, work on diet and cardio. If your goal is to look sexy, yeah--do weights.

40’s u can try but It’s definitely harder & u get hurt easier, damnit!
I’ve also been mainly a cardio guy, jogging, P90x, Insanely, mostly calisthenics..
Trying a new vegan diet & exercising after a year off of pure laziness..
Girlfriend is vegan. It works if you do it properly but most people don't. I'm basically pescatarian. Sometimes I'll eat other type of meat out of convenience but I do avoid it. In my 30's.
