Ewers has a background in Judo competing in many tournaments over the years throughout the UK and abroad. He has medalled at the British Championships multiple times and won the Commonwealth Championships title in 2004 and 2006. He ranks as 4th degree blackbelt in Judo, and blackbelt in BJJ.
He is also a former Welsh Champion, has medalled at the Scottish Open, Irish Open, Northern Irish Open, English Open, Finnish Open, Swedish Open, and has JudoInside record of 24 - 34.
Aswell as competing, he has served as head coach of the Welsh National Judo team for several years, and opened his own gym "Craig Ewers Academy" in his native Wales, established in 2008.
