kopylov has moved his camp to dagestan for a while now, i don't think ribeiro will give him any looks that he hasn't already seen at a much much higher level training there

also worth noting that kopylov's base cardio is better than ribeiro's and then you factor in that dagestan is at a higher altitude than sao paulo, i think ribeiro could easily gas himself out trying to take and hold kopylov down

the goat sadulaev has kopylov ready, inshallah

My man ! Thanks for the confidence boost. I know Claudio has **** cardio but he can be dangerous before he gasses. Roman easily is the better striker.

Poirier vs. Gaethje II
Justin Gaethje, TKO, R4
Unpopular opinion here but POIRIER IS SO F-ING CRINGE. Gaethje isn't the same fighter when they fought last, Demolition Job from Gaethje!!!

Błachowicz vs. Pereira
Jan Błachowicz, DEC
50/50 fight, Jan needs to wrestle early and not get comfortable striking with Alex. Hoping Jan doesnt pull a Strickland here.

Ferguson vs. Green
Bobby Green, DEC
Sad for Tony. Hoping he proves me wrong here.

Chiesa vs. Holland
Kevin Holland, TKO, R3
Chiesa got a cushy job in an mma analyst, Holland going to roll here

Giles vs. Bonfim
Gabriel Bonfim, SUB, R1
This Bonfim is the real deal, Giles always struggles with his mental approach to fights. Bonfim will bring a firestorm right of the back. Expecting a early sub or KO.

Lewis vs. Rogério de Lima
Marcos Rogério de Lima, TKO, R1
Okay Derrick Lewis if you can't KO De Lima then maybe its time to hang it up

Kopylov vs. Ribeiro
Roman Kopylov, TKO, R2
Kopylov made me a fan after his performance against puna. Ribeiro is dangerous in rd but going to gas out with kopylovs pressure and technical striking

Vergara vs. Salvador
CJ Vergara, DEC
Vergara is going to break Salvador down with high pace.

Semelsberger vs. Medic
Matthew Semelsberger, TKO, R2
Semi the Jedi got this. Medic is dangerous but semelsberger is dangerous on feet and def got superior ground game.

Maverick vs. Cachoeira
Miranda Maverick, DEC
Maverick needs to back up all the talk at some point, this seems like a winnable spot for her. Cachoeria comes to throw down. Expecting maverick to rely on takedown and ground heavy game to neutralize cachoeira.

Micheal wins decisions and loses by finish. Kevin loses decisions and wins by finish. Micheal decisions decisioners. Kevin finishes finishers. Kevin's underwear is too tight.

Poirier vs. Gaethje II
Justin Gaethje, TKO, R4
Team elevation.

Błachowicz vs. Pereira
Alex Pereira, TKO, R1
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! 🏹

Ferguson vs. Green
Tony Ferguson, TKO, R2
The Nate Diaz performance is hopefully not indicative of the Tony we will see tonight… I don’t care if I get it wrong.

Chiesa vs. Holland
Michael Chiesa, SUB, R2
Holland is somehow gonna end up on the ground, Chiesa has that dog in him; went on to win round 3 against Brady.

Giles vs. Bonfim
Gabriel Bonfim, SUB, R1
Due to the elevation I think Bonfim is going to make it his mission to end this in round 1.

Lewis vs. Rogério de Lima
Derrick Lewis, TKO, R1
Mythical “Not Obese” Derrick R1 KO.

Kopylov vs. Ribeiro
Roman Kopylov, TKO, R2
Claudio might win round 1 but after that he’s gonna gas faint if Kopylov doesn’t finish him first.

Matthews vs. Flowers
Jake Matthews, SUB, R2
Darius has power so don’t rule out a R1 KO.

Vergara vs. Salvador
CJ Vergara, TKO, R3
Vergara decisión is pretty safe imo. I just say R3 stoppage for fun.

Semelsberger vs. Medic
Matthew Semelsberger, TKO, R2
Semi is going in hard… (pause).

Maverick vs. Cachoeira
Miranda Maverick, TKO, R1
This cards energy will fuse with Mavericks fist and cause a R1 WMMA TKO (I flipped a coin).

Maverick vs. Cachoeira
Miranda Maverick, DEC
Very tempted to take a flyer on Zombie Girl now that she seems to have figured her weight issues out. While I don't rate Maverick very high, she's got a big grappling advantage here. She's also a Denver native if I'm not mistaken so she should have no issue with the elevation. I'm a little concerned she's coming back to fight again so soon after getting owned a month ago, but Cachoeira is pretty much a one trick pony. I could always be wrong of course, but I think there's a much better chance Cachoeira gasses out first before she can land enough damage to really hurt or finish Maverick. Not sure Maverick should be a near 3 to 1 favorite but I'm also saying that as someone who really hesitates picking fighters who might be coming back too soon from a loss.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 9 of 11 Winners, 1 Perfect, 560 Points   |   Tied for 1091st

Poirier vs. Gaethje II
Justin Gaethje, TKO, R5
Trilogy fight incoming.

Błachowicz vs. Pereira***
Alex Pereira, TKO, R3
Very hard for me to trust Jan here. He is a good kickboxer himself and great at checking leg kicks but overall I think he's outmatched on the feet. Jan has the grappling to mix it up and win rounds here, but I don't know that he can do it for 15 straight minutes. If he has any trouble at all landing takedowns or grappling/clinching against the cage, he's going to be in big trouble. However, I think even if he finds success it's going to destroy his tank. I see Jan fading hard in the 3rd round and getting finished late. It's pretty much been the story of his last few fights. With the exception of the Glover fight where he didn't even win the 1st, Jan hasn't looked great in his last 2 performances. Rakic was taking over before he got hurt and Jan did really well for 2 rounds against Ankalaev before absolutely falling off a cliff the back half of the fight. The flipside here is Poatan could just as easily have the same issues with the elevation. I think Jan is going to struggle with the reach disadvantage here and I think Glover will have Poatan well prepared for this fight. Every minute of this fight that goes bye greatly diminishes the chances of Jan winning. I think he needs a finish in the first 2 rounds to get this done and I just don't see it. Jan hasn't really come close to finishing anyone since he beat Reyes, who we all now understand is an absolute bum.

Chiesa vs. Holland
Kevin Holland, SUB, R2
Chiesa doesn't have great cardio in a normal setting and is pretty low out-put. I don't see him being able to hold Holland down for 15 straight minutes and Holland is no slouch on the ground.

Giles vs. Bonfim
Gabriel Bonfim, SUB, R2
Giles is a solid if unspectacular fighter whos completely outmatched pretty much everywhere here. This is a showcase spot for Bonfim who has almost become a dark-horse prospect at 170 because Shavkhat, Garry and JDM are all so good.

Lewis vs. Rogério de Lima
Derrick Lewis, TKO, R2
Not as big a mismatch as some might believe but I can't not back Lewis now that he seems much healthier. de Lima loves to work in leg kicks and I think he's going to get countered bad and put to bed.

Kopylov vs. Ribeiro
Roman Kopylov, TKO, R2
Ribeiro can bang but Kopylov is without question the more polished striker. I think Ribeiro is going to tire himself out at elevation in an attempt to mix in some grappling.

Matthews vs. Flowers
Jake Matthews, SUB, R1
Respect to Flowers for finally making his debut not just on short notice, but at elevation. This fight is a mismatch everywhere: size, skill, experience. If Matthews finds a way to lose this fight he should be cut before the event is over. This is a lay up.

Vergara vs. Salvador
CJ Vergara, TKO, R3
I don't think Salvador is very good to be brutally honest. The weight miss at elevation is also not a great sign. Vergara is no world beater but he's got all the necessary skills to get another finish here.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 6 of 11 Winners, 2 Perfect, 415 Points   |   Tied for 3969th

Poirier vs. Gaethje II
Dustin Poirier, SUB, R3
gotta stick with dustin, he's probably the sharper boxer and his ground game is significantly more dangerous.

Błachowicz vs. Pereira
Jan Błachowicz, DEC
far more interesting if alex wins, but jan is used to fighting big opponents and is very likely the best grappler alex has faced so i'll trust his chin.

Lewis vs. Rogério de Lima
Marcos Rogério de Lima, DEC
if it's not a staring contest, de lima will probably be the one to push forward so he can win on volume if he doesn't run into a big counter. i'll let derrick surprise me though in that case.

Ferguson vs. Green
Bobby Green, TKO, R3
more likely a decision i think, but i'll get spicy and say tony's chin gives out once he starts to slow down.

Chiesa vs. Holland
Kevin Holland, DEC
chiesa will have his usual moment where he has an opportunity on kevin's back, but i think his striking is significantly behind kevin's and it'll lead to him being unable to dictate where the fight happens.

Giles vs. Bonfim
Gabriel Bonfim, TKO, R2
not confident that giles can force a wrestling match, might be on the wrong end of the striking.

Vergara vs. Salvador
CJ Vergara, TKO, R2
salvador might control the range early and push the action, but after the weight miss i think his gas tank will be a little compromised and cj could start to find his range/power once salvador slows a bit.

Kopylov vs. Ribeiro
Roman Kopylov, TKO, R2
figures to be basically a kickboxing fight, kopylov seems to have faced better competition and claudio's last loss was by ko.

Matthews vs. Flowers
Jake Matthews, SUB, R2
jake could have a couple scares in r1, but i kinda expect him to find his range and td entries after he lets flowers blow off some energy.

Semelsberger vs. Medic
Matthew Semelsberger, DEC
for all the power he swings with, semelsberger doesn't seem to find the ko and it seems like medic could be too fast to land big on, but i still think he'll come with more volume and a better thank than uros.

Maverick vs. Cachoeira
Priscila Cachoeira, DEC
i'll take a chance here and say priscila can sprawl enough to land shots in between attempts.

I definitely don't feel super confident picking against Poirier here but I just have a feeling these two are destined to fight a trilogy against one another. Poirier can say the elevation isn't going to make a difference all he wants, but I think it will.

Poirier always had 25 minutes of cardio and its usually at a high pace, also people seem to completely disregard the fact that he's been sleeping at high altitude for weeks to acclimatize his body to the pressure difference
