The man won a close split decision in which he did better than people expected however I think one more top 5 win would have helped the hype for this fight.
This feels more like an old marketing tool in which Dana would fast-track a potential star however this might be worse for Sean's development if he loses badly.

If Aljamain isn't moving up then the idea goes out the window but if they could have had Aljamain face Cory in a rematch instead and have Sean fight Chito in a rematch then have the two winners and losses face each other.
Either way, I feel if the UFC could wait a bit before having Sean in the title picture they could benefit greatly from it.
I mean Cory vs Sean for the belt if Aljamain moves up seems way more entertaining.

Weidman has glass prosthetics, and I just don't see any world in which he can pull this off. His chin is suspect even on a lightweight, which is good considering Tavares has the finishing power of one. I think Weidman is too slow to close distance on tavares for a takedown, too wary of his legs to throw kicks, too weak and old to land anything significant to the chin, and probably too broke to just retire. I think Weidman has that American wrester heart that'll take him to the scorecards given he doesn't get smoked, however I just think its much more likely for Tavares to win by unanimous than a KO, which he hasn't done since his Jotko KO in April of 2018.
