@rah I wouldn’t go heavy on brundage. As bad as dumas is, brundage is the definition of a glass cannon. He could win every second of this fight before doing something stupid and throwing the fight. There’s much better spots to hammer

Snearious

BW is hard to pick because everyone is good. Also lots of robberies in the judging as many fights go to decision

Brundage should murder Dumas. He has a good chin and all of his losses are very very respectable. I honestly don't think Dumas is UFC caliber after his first fight. Brundage is so good at the one thing Dumas is clearly bad at. That fight is a no brainer for me.

Having exhausted all nonlegal means I can think of to get a hold of some footage of Mariscal I've decided to just base my pick on how they look on the scale on friday.
I could skip the fight of course but I never skip a fight, that would be cheating.

@foppa he has horrible fight iq tho. Makes terrible (&often fight ending) decisions every fight.

Dalcha - he tried to stand & trade with him. Got rocked very badly & almost ko’ed multiple times. Won off of a Hail Mary guillotine
Michal - for someone who can allegedly grapple, it was really really concerning watching him get swept against someone as bad on the ground as michal
Viera - winning every second of this fight, decides to guillotine a bjj legend after avoiding the ground the whole fight

Also should be noted, this is his third short notice fight in a row

Ehhh idk hes done really well even in his losses. He lost up a weight class, got out wrestled by Maximov who had some length on him, had no shot against Oleksiejczuk due to the difference in striking skill.

In my opinion, hes made one really glaring mistake so far and it was in his last fight against Vieira. I can excuse that one because he was doing surprisingly well and just got too excited.

Dumas on the other hand made Fremd, who to be fair is a decent fighter IMO, look like an absolute beast. Hes not UFC level IMO. Brundage doesn't have a lot of fights but hes fought really good competition so far. I think between that, his grappling skills and a pretty obvious strength/power advantage, he should cruise here.

Other than Brundage coming off a very recent loss I see this being a smash spot for him to even out his UFC record at 3-3. If he got knocked cold in his last fight I'd be a bit more cautious but thats not the case here.

Watch Taira's fight against Kiyotaka Shimizu. He was getting pushed around on the feet by a 5"2 journeyman closing in on 40. What do you think a young explosive athlete like Kleydson is going to do?

Its not too late to get your money away from Taira. Theres a reason that ML has been plummeting  the last few days.

I found myself picking a ton more upsets than I like to on this card. Death or glory, I guess.

@foppa well I still think brundage will win but it’s just hard to be confident in someone so stupid. Maybe I’m just being biased but I really don’t like brundage; I think he’s a glass cannon

Brundage seems like the kind of guy the UFC brought in to essentially lose but hes overperformed and showed he belongs. Not only that, but the fact he continually takes short notice fights has no doubt put him in good graces.

Yep, 100% agree with that. Not totally sure he belongs in the ufc still but I’ll definitely agree he’s overperformed to the max. And yeah ufc must love him; he fights so much

Crazy how everyone was on Taira's nuts after his last win saying he was the future champion now everyone is doubting him.

Rodriguez is arguably his toughest test to date. Everyone was reminded of just how much potential he has the way he dominated his last fight. To be fair, he fought a regional level opponent and also didn't make weight. However, the skill is clearly there. He absolutely ran Shannon Ross over.

I think the matchmakers see guys like Taira as a challenge. The obvious trend with all of the fights hes getting are guys with similar levels of experience who have all had recent win streaks. If he wins this weekend I will be absolutely blown away if his next opponent isn't Steve Erceg. That's the next logical step up after this IMO.

Bro, they really think Rodriguez is going to beat Taira? Smh

This card order is setup to give Taira a showcase spot so that Japanese audiences can watch.

How exactly do the guys picking Rodriguez think he is going to win? Taira slipping on a banana peel?

The dumbasses on here seem to think the UFC is giving him a test.
🤦

What they are giving him is a showcase.

I see Taira winning just not dominating. If he gets another finish I'll definitely be even more impressed than I already am. I honestly hope he does so he can take a quick turn around and try and get on that Singapore card.
