Predictions: 5 of 10 Winners, 0 Perfect, 250 Points   |   Tied for 1100th

UFC 142 is coming to you live tonight from that mysterious yet seemingly awesome place called Rio. Jose Aldo defends his belt against Chad Mendes in a compelling featherweight main event.

Things are scheduled to kick off at AROUND 7:30 eastern time for a single prelim fight on Facebook.com/UFC.  Then at 8:00 eastern time you can catch 4 fights for free on FX (for the first time, FX, not Spike!) . Finally at 10:00pm eastern time, plunk down your hard earned dollars to watch the Pay Per View main card.

Your prediction results and leaderboard ranking will automatically show up in any posts made here. If you want to embed your full listing of picks you can do that also.   Your picks, as well as a link to embed the image, and the top of the site-wide leaderboard will all be available in the right column on this thread.

Enjoy the fights and good luck in your predictions!

REMINDER: No requesting of or posting links to illegal streams of the Pay Per View broadcast.

Alcantara, Barboza, Palhares, and Erick Silva should fight fighters who can give them more of a challenge.

I guess if you don't care for the atmosphere and policies here, you could always stop visiting.  That'd be ok.

I posted in the Aldo vs. Mendes thread that this was exactly the way this fight was going to go down, with Aldo landing a knee, I just thought it would happen in the second.  Do we have an early frontrunner for card of the year?

I can see sharing KOTN with Barboza but a wheel kick KO like that is so rare it has to get KOTN.

Yeah there was just no way that Barboza's KO could have been any more perfect.  Not only did he knock him out cold but the dude went stiff as a board, his eyes rolled back before he even hit the ground and right when Barboza hit him he knew it was over and walked away.  That was one of the best KO's I've ever seen in my life.

Barboza was cruising to a decision perfect for me there and decided to become a hero and I don't mind one bit.  worthy way to miss a pick

Well it's probably a status thing.  Like for example when a fight on the main card gets FOTN, even if a fight on the undercard was slightly better, it's because the other one was a higher status fight with bigger names.  So Helwani probably thinks since it was the main event or whatever that it should have gotten KOTN.  Idk it makes sense in my head lol.

I see what you're saying, but Barboza's KO wasn't buried on the undercard.  Everyone who saw Aldo's also saw Barboza's, and while Aldo's was a cool return to form, Barboza's was much flashier.
