Predictions: 9 of 14 Winners, 3 Perfect, 555 Points | Tied for 1449th
To the amirkhani point, I lean him here for a few reasons
1. He’s very good early on; has super high level wrestling (one of the best in the division outside of the top 15) and great bjj. So early on, he will be able to deal with pearces pressure
2. Pearce is the definition of all offense, no defense. I haven’t seen him in trouble on the ground but, I would assume he is the same way on the ground; he has a great chin but is just reckless on the feet and shows absolutely 0 respect for striking defense. He’s been subbed before so I assume he is reckless there too
3. I had doubts about if makhwan actually wanted to still fight, but after that win he seemed very adamant about continuing onwards with fighting; he’s also staying active which is nice. He’s not old and despite the decline in record, if he’s still motivated he can provide a very tough test
Basically, I think it’s makhwan early with a sub or JSP takes over as the fight goes on and wears away on him

I could never put my finger on it but after reading your post I can totally see how constant offense & lack of defense is a superb way to describe his current approach. Great analysis appreciate it!
I agree with what you're sayin - I too think he leaves himself too wide open on the feet, but I don't put much stock into Amirkhani's striking so that sways me in favor of Pearce.
I do agree that it's valid to infer Pearce's lack of defense carrying over on the ground, but at the same time I tend to give it less consideration as he was subbed in 2016. I think he either worked on that area (or perhaps again to your point), he adjusted by simply increasing his offense.
Finally, it's nice to hear from someone else talk about the importance of the mental game. I always value that aspect highly when making a choice, and I feel the majority of fans do not.

Alexander Gustafsson, DEC
Close fight, I’m banking on Alex showing up but you never know these days
McCann vs. Goldy
Molly McCann, DEC
Why does the ufc put this on the main card lmao
Amirkhani vs. Pearce
Makwan Amirkhani, SUB, R2
Hard to say. I’ll go with Makwan but it could go either way
Herbert vs. Nelson
Jai Herbert, TKO, R1
Herbert is a good fighter, he’s just had a rough go of it in the ufc. Losing to Trinaldo, Moicano and Toupira. He should definitely win this though, Nelson is as medicore as they come so it’s simple pick
Wood vs. Rosa
Nathaniel Wood, DEC
Rosa is exceptionally tough, but that’s the only thing he’s got going for him here
