Dakota wasn’t tough enough to stand with Austin, you think he stands a chance against a Russian with over 100 amateur kickboxing fights under his belt? Bush has nothing on his side but prayers against Slava.

Slava has more like 300 I’ve heard. His standup is very good Ik not sure where you think it isnt

And Brito has some serious ko power. Algeo leaves his chin up a LOT when he rushes in. He rushes in to throw multiple shots. His takedown defense has lost him lots of fights

Austin’s only wins are against short notice regional talent, or cans. He’s a notorious slow starter too, so while I don’t think either Dakota or Austin have bad standup, the fact he struggled against an unranked gatekeeper does not spell well for the beast he’s gonna have to go up against. Reminder, Slava was a short notice underdog against the undefeated Chris Duncan, and he made that guy look like he didn’t belong in the same ******* ring.

I think Brito will be fine so long as he's not completely Dada'd in the third round. Algeo has way too many holes he can exploit for him to be in danger while he's still fresh imo. Expecting a good amount of top control from Brito here.

As far as Slava/Bush goes, there's always some degree of danger when going up against a guy that empties his gas tank in the first 3 minutes even if the skill discrepancy might be pronounced. Outside of Dakota catching Borschev cold though, I don't think he can win. He's never actually beaten someone with a pulse, and while he did have a good first round against Hubbard, Austin is a slow starter and a plodder.

The only fight I'm truly worried about is Rosa/Brown since I still don't get that line. Charles being such an underdog makes me feel like he'll get struck by lightning mid-fight and TJ will win by default.

I guess McGee/Brahimaj could also shock me since I've seen many people give Ramiz glowing reviews whilst I think Court grinds him out. I'll die on the hill that Court gets the nod though, too much experience for a guy with one path to victory (yes, I know Ramiz is competent on the feet) to overcome imo.

Ya Ik. Hubbard is the grappler gatekeeper. He usually gets denominated by the better grappler and he actually outgrappled the supposed grappler in bush. Shows me his tda isn’t that good

I mean hey, I could see Dakota pulling off an upset in my head. But then again, I can also picture Randy Savage fighting a trans-gendered sewer gator made of styrofoam, so maybe my imagination isn’t the best judge of character. A man can dream though.

Slava

Predictions: 8 of 10 Winners, 2 Perfect, 450 Points   |   Tied for 359th

I hope everyone is right about Slava because I have put a fair bit of money on him. But is his striking actually as good as everyone is saying? Sure Slava has a lot of amateur fights in K1 but his pro MMA fight record is not against great opponents.

Rewatched the Will Starks fight and was not as impressed as I remember being. It was a very close fight on the feet and Starks is no world beater. Also the Duncan fight on DWCS by R2 Duncan had gassed badly and slowed down and was fighting with his hands down leaving his chin open.

The best thing about Slava is his body work and his defensive movement, but his volume is not great and he does not seem to have a lot of power. Bush also has a decent reach advantage but the reason I think he will lose is because he also fights with his hands down and is open to getting hit.

Like I said I have picked Slava and he probably still wins but I think it will be a lot closer than a lot of people seem to think. I hope I am wrong about this, but there are questions in my mind about him and I think Bush is getting under rated a bit here because of his short notice fight against Springer. I should have tape studied him more earlier. I would now definitely not call him a lock.

Like I said I hope I am wrong and hope Slava takes it!

He had an upset over Kai Kamaka. Don’t let that make you think twice, he lost that fight and the decision was giftwrapped.

Volume ain’t that important as long as you have power, and Slava has more than enough. Being on the receiving end of his check hook is like being the victim of a hit-and-run…by a time traveling DeLorean.

My job often includes close study of body cues, which I'm telling you because it's hard to turn it off elsewhere.  That's why I noticed Maia's odd choice of putting up only one fist, and placing the other across her belly.  What that means may be open to speculation, but it's not nothing.
