DC didnt exactly look great against Anderson, i know it was a quick change of opponents but still.....maybe he's just getting old.

I guess with Jones awaiting the winner it'll keep that spark alive to finally get that rematch.

@pie2munch totally agree, DC mostly held him to the ground and landed short punches. even if he got a new opponent in three day notice (although it's the MW GOAT), he had trained for a five round fight with Jon (What should have been the biggest fight in he's carreer) and Silva did not trainig for any fight.. So when this was announced i thought DC would slam Silva across the cage ..
DC caught Silva in the start of the second, but he got hurt to the body twice (especially in the end of the third)..
DC got a chin of steel, but somewhere along the line the brain will say NO, by blackening, I dont know if DC got there yet (or if we ever se him go there).But if it's any fight he get's to test he's chin again, it's probably this one.

I think DC played it safe,possibly due to him having too much respect for Anderson's KO ability,but that's not exactly a bad thing even if Silva is well past his prime.I think he just did what he had to do and that's not always pretty.

I agree. I think some of it, was he blow his load once the fight was changed. Fighters will not admit it, but in my opinion that is clearly a thing. I do think Cormier has been slowing down. I still think he has enough to take Johnson, but it does worry me, that he has clearly slowed down his last few fights. Personally I think Cormier was one of the greatest ever, and we all slept on him. That just my two cents. I hope he wins, which will just prove so more.

If we learned anything though is that Daniel is really hittable, and you have to take that into account. Anderson who's almost retired hurt him a few times, Gustafsson almost had him out of there, Jones hurt him several times standing, Rumble almost ******' finished him, I'm not so sure he can avoid getting stopped like that so many times, you have to take his age and miles in competitive sports into consideration. Rumble has his flaws but he has proven he can hurt Daniel in that first round and I think it happens again, if you pick Daniel you have to be counting on his chin, and I can't.
