I still think it was a draw. no body won the 2nd

Quick question for you if conor won for the more damage did you think Johny beat GSP in that close fight????

Personally never thought Conor would or should go back to featherweight, despite all the calls for it. I think it would be a stupid move on his part. He can make more money at lightweight and preform better without draining himself to such an extent as he does to make featherweight.

Imo he's not much if any bigger now than he was walking weight for FW besides in hard training (last weeks of camp for fw).If he wants to be a champ again I think he needs to be at 145,I think he'd get eaten up by a bunch of guys at 155.I think he needs to diet right and make 145 like he was before.People act like his cut is so much worse than 99% of the ufc roster which imo is bs.The guy makes 145 fine and imo needs to fight Jose Aldo and take it from there.

Also his cardio looked fine against other guys, including Mendes which was a tough fight till the end,and that was after cutting to 145.Some people have better cardio not cutting weight and carrying extra weight and some people have better cardio at a lower weight class, cutting weight and not carrying extra. That's just how it is,people's bodies react differently. For some reason most mma fans are under the impression if you don't cut weight your cardio is going to be 100% of your capabilities and sometimes that's not the case.Conor does not carry the extra weight well imo.Conor belongs at 145 or he'll get f'd up by guys like RDA bad.

we also have never seen conor in late 4th or 5th rounds at fw to really know.  his style at fw is so aggressive and has worked so good that he didnt care.  i think diaz has taught him one thing. watch that gas tank!

Seeing how he fares in championship rounds I'd not be at all surprised if he lost a UD to Aldo in a rematch.

Aldo isn't going to have a 20-pound weight advantage and has already shown he can't take McGregor's power.

I think Conor tired in both Diaz fights because Diaz was still standing after how much Conor threw.

I have to re-watch it, but watching live I thought for sure it was a draw, 48-48 or Diaz 48-47.

Round 1: 10-9 Conor (or very possibly a 10-8)
Round 2: 10-10 (or 10-9 Diaz for the momentum shift)
Round 3: 10-9 Diaz (or a 10-8 for nearly finishing many times)
Round 4: 10-9 Conor
Round 5: 10-9 Diaz

It's all how you scored rounds 1-3 and if there were 10-8's. I have to re-watch. I remember agreeing with Joe Rogan though thinking that it was even going into the 5th. If McGregor got the 10-8 and Diaz didn't in the 3rd then I guess it would have been a 47-47 draw like the 2nd judge thought. Which frankly seems more realistic than either one of them winning that one, it was such a back and forth fight.

Momentum shift erases two knockdowns and a 3.5-minute thrashing in R2 b/c Diaz pushed him against the fence in the last minute and landed his body flurries?

Don't forget Conor was also "running" ... people are actually going to try and argue that Conor didn't bring the fight just because when he was spent on in a bad spot against a super long fighter he created distance.

He stalked Diaz for a lot of the fight and ****** his face up, but if you're fighting a Diaz and in a bad spot, god forbid you don't stand in front of them and take punishment or get finished "like a man".

I'm one of the only ones who had it 48-47 for Diaz, I thought round 2 is the only round worthy of debate.

Diaz got dropped and picked apart for well over half the round then dominated for 40 seconds. No ******* way he won that round. Too many judging this fight with emotion and bias.

If your agreeing with Joe in a close fight when a Diaz is concerned going into the 5th. you need to rewatch that fight. Don't ever take Joe Rogan word, when a Diaz is concerned. He is insanely bias in favor of the Diaz brothers. It really quite remarkable. He literally contradicts himself where they are concerned, he has no ability to look at them objectively.

@yoss. Exactly. He ran to center ground where he had room to work in and out of Diaz's length. He clinched when he had to and created distance when he had to. I was impressed how smart he fought actually.

It was a close back and forth fight. The right guy got the decision.  Peoples hate is getting in the way of what an excellent scrap it was.

I don´t think that running afected much the fight... honestly I recall one round where it was very evident and another when he kind of ran a few times... but I dont remember excatly which rounds so Im not gonna coment about if it affected the fight or not.
instead I just wanted to say that I do think Conor ran in a few cases, not every time he got away from Diaz, but theres a diference when he uses his slips and footwork to avoid strikes and put some distance between fighters, and turning around and jog away from your opponent.  Cruz uses side steps and takes 2-3 steps to get away from his opponents. But to me what Conor did looked more like runnig away than slipping away.

of course its not about standing still infront of his opponent, I personaly havenmt read or heard about anyone complaining that Conor didnt stood still and traded with DIaz... but Ive heard some complaints that he ran... just like a lot of people complain that maywather runs in his fights.

like I said before I enjoyed the fight a lot, in fact Im still pumped and I still think about it when i wake up and go to bad. it was that exciting to me. and Conor little jogs didnt bother me.... but to me he did ran a few times, very clearly showing his back to Diaz and sprinting away... not very technical stuff.

He jogged back to the center of the octagon and stalked Diaz for very long periods of the fight yet I see Diaz fans saying he ran. Did they see his face? Unless he did that with his butt I think he generated enough action for "running" not to come up, yet Nate of course says it.

I like the Diaz bros. but they can't handle losses for ****. As far as they're concerned they've never lost a fight. Bendo was tuning Nate up and he was flipping him off like he was winning, Condit ran, GSP laid on top of him (coveniently disregarding all the elbows to the face while doing so), Thompson knocked Nate out but he was "moaning like a girl", the RDA loss was only because Nate was "disinterested in fighting but needed the money". They're basically champions of all weight classes, the only real and clean fighters on the planet and only lose to *****ass punks who are scared to fight them.

I never said Conor didnt fight, I specifically said that I remember 2 rounds in which he ran one more than the other. Im not talking **** about Conor the only thing that could be taken as judgment (I would call it Adjective) was that it was not very techincal of him. you call it what you wil, I call it running and that´s not hating, its just what happened.

Im not mad about the result I said it from the begining, dont agree with it but it doesnt bother me. that doesnt mean I wont speak my mind.

@yoss The reason why the whole running back to center thing should be scored against McGregor, in my opinion, is because they have traditionally scored it negatively with fighters like Gustafsson.  It's like the judges need to make up their mind.  If the judges score it negatively for one fighter, it should be scored that way for every fighter.  Why should McGregor get a pass for running back to center when Gustafsson was deducted points by the judges when he fought Jones for doing it?
