Main event for June 27 in Miami. Quick turnaround for Machida. Must want to get back on the horse. I think this means we'll see Bisping/Jacare in July. Just a hunch.

Machida making this quick of a turnaround after how badly he was beaten in the Rockhold fight...seems like a bad idea.

Wrestlers give Machida trouble but Romero is smaller than Rockhold and Weidman and his striking defense isn't as good.

Romero, while coming off of a torn meniscus, is a world class wrestler with some solid striking skills.  And as much as I am a fan of Machida, the slight height and reach advantage he has over Romero will be nullified when Romero takes the fight to the ground.  I take Romero by a ground and pound TKO in round 3.

First I agree that wrestler don't give machida trouble if anything he seems to give them trouble.

As for people thinking Romero will ground and pound Machida, you are crazy. The odds of Romero getting him to the ground are unlikely and even if he does I doubt he finish machida there and I bet machida would get back to his feet.  I think people are forgetting how hard it is to keep machida on the ground and hurt him. Both Jones and Wiedman had trouble doing this. Luke the only one that been really successful and that more because Rockhold is extremely fast on the ground and slick which overwhelm machida.  Something Romero will not be able to do. Also it gunna be real hard for Romero to even complete with Machida, if he has to get off the juice which will be soon with the coming drug testing.

I have a feeling Machida's started his decline (no, not because of the Rockhold fight, one fight is never a measuring stick for me, not sure why, just a feeling) and Romero's a better wrestler than every one of those names (not cause "Olympic medalist, bruh", I just think so - again, based more on feeling, nothing I can really point out to solidify my claim).

That said, Romero tends to strike for as long as he can so I don't think he'll be doing too much wrestling until Machida tags him anyway (and I think he will, at least once).

Romero's deceivingly fast on his feet (well, explosive rather than fast, but he gets to his mark remarkably fast for his age) and once he starts losing the striking game has has what I think is the best wrestling in MMA (again, based on past fights, technique and power not solely on the fact that he won an Olympic silver medal in 520 BC).

I'm going with Romero on this one, due to their opposite direction of momentum and confidence level. But would I bet my house on it? No siree (mainly because I don't own a house ;) ).

What makes you think Romero on the rise?

He almost got finished by Kenndy and was saved by some shady business with his corner.

He 38 years old.

There going to start serously drug testing in about a month and this dude looks made out of roids.

I don't disagree in the least that he can win and you have many great points, but I am just curious what makes you think he on the rise while you think Machida on the decline?  Because for me I think Romero about to come to a crashing fall within the year despite if he beats machida or not. While though I think machida could be on the decline I think he can hang around the top 10 for awhile to come, if he so chooses.

Also worth noting, whether it has any effect on drug testing or not, but this fight was moved from Brazil to Hollywood, Florida.

Yoss, you're how old and you still don't own a house? It's time to get your **** together, you aren't 25 anymore.

@Yoss  I would assume that there isn't a whole lot of space in Israel for there to be houses, considering how it is one of the most built up places in the world with all of the historical monuments from past civilizations and such.

Nah, not a space issue, just real estate prices are so stupid these days I'd have to mortgage a kidney to muster up the dosh ... And I only have one kidney so that's off the table (was born with one :) )

I hope Machida fares better than he did against Rockhold.
