Hopefully he cuts his hair while he is gone. He'll become a new man.

a little premature perhaps.
I dont think you can hold the losses to rumble (due to his size, he was baisically against a LHW) and Silva (Erick is good, most the division will loose to him) against him too strongly, personally Id give him one more shot rather than cut after 2 losses in a row/3 in last 5

I agree @Wilflet... I think this was a tad premature... his style probably was the nail in the coffin so to speak.

Not surprising.

He's been finished 4 times, and won a few forgettable decisions.  Outside of the Story fight, he's had his ass promptly kicked whenever he stepped up in competition.

Even in the Story fight, really he just got takedowns and buried his head in Story's chest for 15 minutes.

The only legitimate loss in there from his recent fights is Erick Silva, the Johnson and Noke stoppages were both premature.

I would have given him another chance, maybe keep him around as a gatekeeper to test the wrestling of newcomers, like he did in the Silva fight.

If I was the matchmaker I would book Brennamen vs Gunnar Nelson just to see how good Nelson's guard is and how he deals with a wrestler who can control him.

well the defense his fans used was always: "look, its not pretty but it wins fights"
problem is his not winning fights anymore, so he would be just a guy that can win decisions against people who dont wrestle but never gonna be a contender.

guy is actually likeable, but im not gonna miss him.

The problem with Brenneman is that he is at WW and WW is pretty much the most wrestling heavy division. Losing Brenneman is not really a detriment to the division, where as say he was at FW, MW, HW, or BW he would have been kept around with no problem.

The problem with Brenneman is that

oh wait. There is no problem with Brenneman. He is a God amongst men and we should feel appreciative to have graced the same planet. The Awesome One is too good for the UFC, give him his own promotion.

I'm not really a fan of his, but i always thought he seemed like a goofy guy, which is something i can appreciate. I don't think he deserved to be cut. But when you're a fighter like Brenneman that isn't much of a finisher, then the UFC seems to have a shorter leash as far as cutting fighters.
