My Summary

2020 events of the year (in the UFC). Despite the circumstances from March onwards, the UFC put on some amazing cards and fights.

  1. 1

    UFC 249
    UFC 249
    Ferguson vs. Gaethje
    Saturday, May 09, 2020
    Jacksonville, Florida, United States
The return of MMA in the height of the pandemic. We had the two most violent men in arguably the most exciting division battle it out in an empty arena where we heard every punch, for a shot at the greatest lightweight of all time. Cejudo and Cruz fought in another division which could be considered the most competitive and exciting in the sport, where Cejudo put on a masterful performance and took out the greatest bantamweight of all time. Killer match-ups were on there too in Ngannou-Rozenstruik, Kattar-Stephens and Mitchell-Rosa among others. We saw great finishes all throughout the card. Pettis-Ceronne headlined the prelims for god sake. If you ask me, this card was the biggest moment in MMA in 2020.
  2. 2

    UFC 256
    UFC 256
    Figueiredo vs. Moreno
    Saturday, December 12, 2020
    Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
An absolute sleeper card where both halves of the main event made a three-week turnaround and put together one of the best main events of the year, back and forth war that cemented Deiveson Figueiredo as fighter of the year and showed us how excellent the flyweight division can be. Every match-up on the main card was important to its respective division and we were treated to sensational performances in a number of those high profile contests. Oliveira, Dern, Holland, Gane, Fiziev and Swanson among others were incredible.
