Simpson will be the bigger man with the longer reach. I see this fight spending a reasonable amount of time in the clinch battling for position, with Fitch being able to secure at least one TD a round, earning enough to win him the fight.

Terrible matchmaking. I understand the UFC wanting to give Simpson a loss, but they need to learn Fitch is here to stay. He'll be back in title contention in a few fights. They should be feeding him guys like Shields, who will force him into exciting fights. Not super boring wrestlers like Simpson who pack no threat other than the one punch fluke KO (which Fitch is all too familiar with) which forces him into LnP mode.

That one punch KO was such a fluke I predicted it. Fitch has been overrated for years, he has no business in MMA; I'd rather watch Matt Lindland fight Tim Sylvia than see Fight "fight."

OK keep believing that KO wasn't a fluke. Maybe Hendricks would have won, and yeah, he has good power, but he went the distance with Pierce, Story, Grant and Funch, but when he fights his best opponent of all of them, he happens to knock him out in 12 sedonds. That's called a fluke.

I think "War Fitch" is the oxymoron of the century.

I love this notion of a fluke in fighting. A fluke is Kevin Randleman tripping and knocking himself out for a title fight, NOT when a guy that has been developing his power aims at another man's face with his fist and knocks him out. Maybe rewatch TUF season 1 and see if it sinks in this time; MMA isn't for everyone.

I don't think the punch was a "fluke" ... I don't think that's the right word. I don't think Fitch is overrated, either. He's very good.

Yeah fluke is probably the wrong word. I'm just saying, Fitch made a dumb mistake and circled right into that punch. If they fought 10 more times, it would probably go to decision 10 times. Fitch has a proven chin, and Hendricks (although he has power) is no Shane Carwin.

Fitch was also coming off of injury and long layoff. A lot of people picked R1 KO/TKO though... it was a very real possibility with Hendricks' style.

A lot of people hate Fitch though. If there is any slightly realistic chance of Fitch losing people will jump all over it.

Fitch had gotten so used to people being afraid of his TDs that he forgot they could actually throw punches too and he was KTFO for his troubles.
I only hope Simpson does the same thing.

Simpson is gonna be bigger, but this is gonna be his first fight at 170. Fitch wins by better gas tank.

It's possible Simpson does the same thing Hendricks did. They're very similar with their wrestling and knockout power. The difference is Hendricks is smaller, a bit quicker, and keeps a better pace.
