Did anyone else watch this fight? Seriously!?! The judges gave Ring a decision 29-28 when round 1 is the only round that could be argued for Ring. ***uda took rounds 2 & 3 for sure and even arguably round 1. Every play-by-play site I can find (i.e. Sherdog, MMA Torch, MMA Junkie, MMA Weekly) agrees that ***uda won the decision. ='( ohh well

This was a horrendous decision by far the worst ive ever seen it had me and my buddy jumping up screaming (lots of profanity) if there was ever a decision to be overturned it would be this one. Give ***uda his win bonus.

Changing losses to wins is kinda dumb.. but I agree that draws shouldn't count as a loss since it was impossible to predict the fight right. I don't think there should be a 'draw' option though.
Nick Ring should have lost that fight. Surprised it was unanimous.

I called Ring for this one, but ***uda clearly took it; however, I don't understand how people are attempting to say that ***uda took round 1. Ring heavily out matched him on his feet, and when ***uda took him down, Ring spent the entire time attempting a triangle--one which he almost secured. Ring dominated round 1, but still lost the fight.

Another case where at the end of 3 rounds it was obvious who had taken over the fight. But the judges can't go back and change their scores from earlier rounds once they realize this.

I chose Ring, I thought he lost, so I left the room (pissed), came back, and they were raising his hand!! I must admit, I was rather surprised....

I went 4/12... I need that robbery, haha! Plus I'm Canadian, so I'll take it. Funny Nick Ring actually thought he won, lol, not looking surprised at the decision.

After re-watching the first round, I would still give it slightly to ***uda because he scored two takedowns and the stand-up exchanges were fairly even. The "near submission" (jm038b) was a nice attempt with Ring switching back from attacking the arm, to pulling it through for the triangle and I think that it would look like an iminent sub for Ring to an untrained judge's eye. But as a Jiu-Jitsu guy myself, I know ***uda was defending perfectly and left nothing for Ring;however, Ring was attacking as well as he could, so I would score that time as even (I personally love seeing submission attempts in MMA). So after the fight, I had already marked that ***uda had won, and choked on the water I was drinking when the scores were announced. Clear UD - either 29-28 or 30-27.

I didn't rewatch the fight, but I had Ring taking a close first round, and ***uda taking over from there. Round 2 was at least competitive even though I had it for ***uda, so it didn't totally surprise me that the judges saw it for Ring.

Yeah, I understand the judges getting the first two scored for Ring before seeing the third; it's unfortunate they can't fix it. But even if they could, that would probably allow judges to throw everything off more - I don't think it would help anything. BTW @Gregory, I agree with you idea of using the standard 10-10 through 10-7 if the judges can start using the scores correctly. Because how it is now, a fighter A practically has to kill fighter B to get a 10-8 round, (although judges have been better about this recently) and I don't even want to know what it would take to get a 10-7.
