I like this fight a lot, Mendes is a strong wrestler at 145 and Kenny has had his problems with wrestlers in the past, but Kenny would probably enter the cage as the bigger guy coming down from 155 so maybe he'd have the strength to get back to his feet where he could win the fight...I say Mendes controls the fight on the ground on his way to a UD and a future date with Aldo

While i havent heard of this fight, even in rumor form, but still it is in an interesting matchup. For one Kenflo has struggled with wrestlers recently and they really derailed his lightweight contendership. But i think the move down it weight will do wonders for his strength, power and control. I think Kenny has consciously worked on his wrestling as he knows its his major weakness. I do see mendes getting on top, but i think kennys BJJ would be the x factor, i dont see mendes being able to handle a high level black belt.

Its a decent potential match up, i hadnt heard it rumored either but its still a good one.
I think mendes would lose a decision in this one. Kenny is a lot longer than mendes and i think he could keep mendes away from him and earn a jab and poke decision.

On a serious note, i think they shoudl make this fight to validate Mendes or Florian as a #1 contender. Aldo fights in April, Kenny will be ready for a fight in May, and that's perfect for Mendes to fight again. It makes sense...... C'mon Joe Silva get on this ****!!

Good call bk, give mendes a higher profile (at least in the mainstream) fight that if he wins will have everyone on his bandwagon and give kenflo a warm up (extremely difficult warm up) fight at 145.

I assume Mendes will get the first shot before this fight even goes down. I'd rather see Aldo vs Florian than Aldo vs Mendes. In fact I'd rather see Florian vs anyone than any Mendes fight. Omigawa did a good job of making that fight entertaining but Mendes puts me to sleep.

I think Chad Mendes would beat Florian. Florian's got weak wrestling and Chad would exploit it big time. But now that Florian is most likely fighting Diego Nunes, I think he has a much better shot at making a successful debut at featherweight. I hope Nunes takes it though.

I think at 145, the wrestlers, such as mendes, won't be as big of a threat to him, and with Jackson, he is definitely going to continue to improve his wrestling. I think he would beat Mendes, personally.
