Seeing to how Ken-Flo is supposedly going down to FW, I'm not sure who the UFC puts him up against next.

What would be your ideal matchup for him?

That would be a good fight, but then again I think Sherk would be far too confident in his standup :x

I don't think Sherk really boosts his stock right now, yeah he beat Dunham, but most think he didn't. Plus Melvin just KO'd Dunham silly..... Hard to say who he should fight, perhaps the winner of Sotiropolous/Siver being that fight is soon enough, i can't see him waiting for the winner of Guida/Pettis being that winner should get the next title shot. He's in a tough spot that's for damn sure....

I agree, the lightweight division is a nightmare right now.

The thing is.. G-Sot deserves a title shot. That being said so does Okami but he won't be getting one.

G-Sot vs Duhnam.. or Someone like Miller vs Duhnam?

Good for Guillard, Miller, and Duhnam.. sucks for Sherk! XD

But I think those would be good fights. I want to see how Duhnam reacts to being knocked out.

No way he gets the title shot. Sherk lucked out against Duhnam and Dana knows it.

And it sucks for Sherk because he beat Duhnam, Duhnam goes and gets Knocked out by Melvin.. and then he has to fight Duhnam again? He should want to fight Melvin so people assume he is better of the two.

I disagree on the decision, but I understand why it was scored the way it was.

And Sherk is known to be far too confident in his striking.. and has not made any changes to his gameplan. I think Sherk would get knocked out against Guillard just because he would not go for the takedowns.

Sherk would go for the takedowns and i dont see Guillard knocking sherk out so could make for a good fight.

If he did go for takedowns I 100% agree. But Sherk showed against Duhnam he can't follow gameplans like he should. And he is notorious.. for trying to standup with people and if he did that? He would get knocked out, no doubt in my mind.

Then we agree to disagree.

I think it would be a fun fight regardless, and I am curious to see how Guillad's Take Down Defence would fair against a master of the takedown! :3

I can see them putting this fight together with an eye towards setting up a Guillard title shot.  Guillard's got a significant striking edge and I think good enough defensive TDD to keep it on the feet against Sherk.

Not a matchup I'm dying to see, but it could be cool.

The master of the takedown hasn't utilized his skills since he fought Hermes Franca. Lets be honest, Sherk won the title and defended it by taking people down, transitioning to a superior position, and pounding and wearing on them. I don't understand why he's gotten away from that, whether injuries or pride. The only way Sherk returns to title contention is if he starts taking guys down like he used to, his top game is very good. He's also got to stay healthy and fight more than once a year which at 36 isn't as easy as it used to. Regardless, i think Sherk/Guillard is about the only option they have with everyone else being tied up right now.

Exactly.. I think it is because he thinks his striking is much better then it really is. I personally wanted him to pound out Duhnam.. but for some reason he didn't.

And as for his age.. if it were someone other then him I would have worried. But Sherk is a master of eating right and staying healthy so I think he should be fune in that regard.

And his top-game is unrivaled in the weight division he is in. Maynard is good at it, but even then I don't think he can touch Sherk.

If they do Guillard vs. Sherk, winner deserves a title shot. I think Guillard would dominate that fight. I'd pick modern Guillard against any lightweight, with the exception of maybe Maynard, or Barboza (who could probably outstrike Guillard). I honestly think he will be champ soon.

G-Sot > Guillard

If we are talking about deserving a title shot. Really I think G-Sot would be a nightmare for guillard, but I hope he goes on and continues to win. I love watching him, very exciting fighter.
