Agreed with jaffa. With that being said, it's not like Askren's wrestling is good.

It's great.

It's amazing.

It's arguably the best out of the UFC.

Tough fight to pick but Im leaning towards Lima because it seems like Askren's standup hasnt gotten better since the start of his career. His wrestling makes this a difficult pick though.

Taking Lima, I picked against him in the Saunders fight and he proved me wrong. Never been a huge fan of Askren either, at least GSP apologizes to the fans for not finishing, Askren doesn't give a ****. I'm thinking Lima will get the stoppage.

I think i'm going to change my pick to Lima...i don't think Askren has done much to improve his striking, and i don't think Lima will simply allow him to stall the whole time. Not really a fan of Askren for obvious reasons, and i think Lima has the tools to put him away, most likely on the feet.

I really want Lima to win this fight. I started out really liking Ben Askren, but he's just become another one-dimensional boring fighter. He's really good at that one dimension, but he hasn't improved anywhere else in his overall game. I really like Lima's style, but I think that Askren's style will be Lima's kryptonite. I really hope I'm wrong here.

They're both BJJ brown belts and Askren has elite wrestling to go along with it. I'd be very surprised if Lima subbed him unless it was right after dazing him with strikes. TKO for Lima or decision for either; all depends on a combination of the TDD Lima shows and whether or not they get a stand-up happy ref.

I think this fight is gonna play out a lot like Mendes vs. Aldo. If Lima can keep from getting taken down, he'll get the fight. If I was in his camp, I'd just practice TDD 24/7. It'll be interesting to see how Lima handles Askren's wrestling, but Askren's best chance is to unfortunately lay and pray. This will either be a really exciting match because Lima will have decent TDD or it'll be incredibly boring.

BTW Askren lost his (close) fight with Hieron, 2-3. I'm still bitter about that lol I'm tired of lay n' pray guys like Tyron Woodley, whose style is similar to Askren's.
