Although Thomson should win this......I don't want him to. As good as his fights with Melendez were...I don't want to see another one.

It will probably be a close fight, but Thomson is the more well rounded guy.

Thompson hasn't fought in forever but Noons hasn't looked good at all his last couple fights.

Thomson spends more time healing from injuries than he does training for fights.  It's a shame.  He's a very exciting fighter when healthy.

AnikM you are missing out man.  THomson's old UFC fights were all awesome, high paced scraps.  He had a fight in Pride, and of course a bunch of Strikeforce fights.  If nothing else you should check out his 2 fights with Gilbert Melendez.

Thomson is quite possibly the most underrated LW

Live2wrestle...Indeed.  I wish he could manage to keep from getting injured long enough to put together a consistent string of fights.

Josh Thomson is kind of where Josh Barnett was a couple of fights ago.  These guys dropped off the ranks & public consciousness, not due to losses, but rather due to inactivity (injury/suspension).  Out of sight, out of mind--people forget how great they are.

As with any significant injury, you have to make the caveat "if he's healthy"... but Josh Thomson should siimply out-class KJ Noons.

For some reason I've always held robbing JZ against Thomson, so I've always rooted against him since then. Although I suppose that was only one fight. I also don't like when people die their hair... I like him better than Noons though. And he should win this (assuming he doesn't get injured before the fight).

Josh Thomson dominates Noons earning himself a shot at the SF LW belt, upsets the EXTREMELY over-rated Gilbert Melendez. Derailing the hype train for good!

As much as I enjoyed their second fight, I don't really want to see Melendez/Thomson III.  But, I guess that's the best we're probably going to get out of the Strikeforce lightweight division these days.  So... go Noons, I suppose.

Close fight, but I think Thomson is the more well-rounded fighter and should win the decision if he doesn't play Noons' game. Stat breakdown on this fight at: http://www.breakdownfights.com/?p=3515
