Rosas (5-0), who is just 17, signed Monday to fight Sept. 20 on Dana White’s Contender Series against fellow bantamweight Mando Gutierrez (7-1).

Should he earn a UFC contract, Rosas will become the youngest fighter in UFC history, shattering the previous record of 19 held by Chase Hooper, who also got his start in the UFC through the Contender Series.

Do yall agree with this? So how young is too young... 16...15..?

IMO I think 18 should be the age... but screw with those ears... he's had enough training!

Lol 12 is a little of a reach.

What age do you think is the right age?

I mean I boxed at 8 years old… kids have been doing that for decades. Why is MMA any different?

Boilerplate 18 works for me, mildly sarcastic I never got carded after 14.

In Thailand they start training MT at around 4 years old or up usually without head gear or anything and they can start fighting professional events at like 15.

Thats wild af! I also kinda like it!

wonder if we will ever see a youth mma league in the states.

my son kills at bjj and he boxes as well, hes only 9 but at 13.. I would let him do a match with another kid his age. would have to have special gloves and head gear probably.

Pretty sure Rodtang went pro at 15. He's 25 now and has over 300 MT fights already.
