Amanda Ribas vs rose namajunas is in the works for date tba, likely 299 or 300 if I had to guess (299 because ribas trains in Florida or 300 because rose is a big draw for wmma)

That's a very interesting matchup. Vettori is all hard work & no talent and Allen is very talented but has a major hole in his striking defense. Cannonier would send Allen into a coma imo so good thing Allen didn't draw him as a matchup

Yeah I quite like the fight, vettori has to prove he’s still a top 5 MW and Allen gets his biggest name yet to legitimize his winstreak. Also both guys are usually entertaining

It’s a charity event. Renan barao did something similar with a Brazilian politician not too long ago. Basically jailton is going to take a “dive” against a kid for charity, probably to raise money and bring awareness for Down syndrome

Ufc is going to rio may 4th. Norma dumont vs Irene Aldana is in the works for that event. Pantoja has also requested to defend his belt at this event but may not be possible

Oh good point. Probably featherweight, we know Aldana has trouble making 135 & dumont can’t make it, so I feel it would benefit both to do that. Then again, with such a long notice maybe it is at 135 so both women have time to make weight

if it's featherweight it might as well be for the belt tbh, they are very exciting to watch for the most part and decently marketable but they should just get rid of W145 and make that for 135, dumont could fit at 135 well if the weight cut doesn't kill her

I doubt they give that division a belt again. It died when Nunes retired. Plus PFL-Bellator now has most of the top 145ers under one roof and clearly has the best of those sized women. UFC will not play the game where they have the second best champion.

Still not sure why the ufc hasn’t scrapped the WFW divison yet. It’s literally only there for dumont because she can’t make 135. She needs to either lose weight or go to pfl. It’s so silly to me that in order to get her fights, her opponents have to go to 145

The UFC already has scrapped women's featherweight essentially. Unless Dumont can make 135 and beat someone like Aldana, there's no point to her being in the UFC. Her career is quite literally better off in the PFL. Any future featherweight fights, if they happen at all, will just be bantamweights who aren't able to do the weight cut for that card. This just happened with Rosa vs. Santos. Both women had their next fight booked at bantamweight.

I have no idea why women's bantamweight isn't just 140lbs. It would make the division way, way more interesting IMO.

That’s what I’m saying, there is literally no point to her being in the ufc. WFW is the only division where pfl/Bellator actually has the better fighters
