Chris Weidman returning is the most pointless thing. He actually got a win a couple years ago against Omari Akhmedov who is decent and then loss b/c of a freak injury. There is no need to risk getting knocked tf out after having pretty much a career-ending injury. He can say he still was good enough to compete in the top 10 before that happen too. Now, I think he loses to everyone in the rankings tbh

He just doesn’t want to go out the way he did. He is going to lose to Tavares but I don’t blame him for wanting to finish his career a different way instead of his last fight being a freak leg break

The sad thing about MMA is the stories of fighters with families, I mean Chris could do colour commentary, etc, but he'd rather suffer more brain damage then call it a day, and that is the heart of a fighter. I wish he wouldn't do this, I believe any simple touch on his chin could put him away, but they matched him with Tavares and he rarely, rarely finishes fights.

I mean tbf the fact that nearly anyone can chin him makes me okay with them giving him a power puncher. I mean he's already has a bad chin, a more versatile but weaker puncher can still finish him with the right shot selection. Someone like Bruno Silva would've been better imo due to have a poor ground game and poor TDD

Tavares is also on the decline, albeit not nearly as bad as weidman is. He should win & probably finishes weidman. But from a matchmaking perspective I get what the ufc is doing. They’re giving him someone who is also on the decline & isnt known for having ko power

Gaston can really strike with anyone in the UFC, but he's just not good at MMA at whole. McGhee should win that tho cause he is pretty well rounded tbh

Damon Jackson vs. Billy Q is a fight for relevance really. Loser might have a hard time getting back into the rankings and eventually might get cut. Both would dominate PFL and Bellator tho

I disagree on the Gaston point. His striking is not that good. He was spamming spinning elbows like an idiot against Phillips; looked very low level on the feet
