Just saw some news that made me very happy. Jamahal hill (if you know me, you know he’s one of my favorite fighters) will be training at Sanford mma for his camp against Thiago santos and his fights going forward. Greg Jones will be able to help him with wrestling defense and Henri hooft is going to elevate his already very impressive striking game. I think hill at Sanford will be a ******* force for 205

Ya if you are a developing prospect sanford is 1000% the gym to go to. So many killers there and it gives him more opportunities than his little gym in Michigan can. Plus, they will help fix the holes in his wrestling game and get his cardio up (although he hasn’t shown any cardio issues thus far)

Ilia topuria vs sodiq Yusuf is the fight the ufc is trying to make next (thank god they moved in from Edson) no date announced but I would assume July 16 since that’s when they wanted ilia vs barboza

One of the female prospects I’ve had my eye on is Daria zeleznikova. She just fought today at ares fc and dominated former ufc fighter liana jojua, getting 2 30-25 scorecards. Jojua is far from a quality opponent, but she is a former ufc fighter and that fact that Daria beat her so dominantly, will help raise her stock as a prospect. Someone to look out for

It appears the best Argentinan prospect, Esteban Ribovics, has either signed with the ufc or dwcs. He posted a picture on isntragram showing signed papers with the ufc logo on them. He would perfectly fit the bill if a dwcs signee; undefeated with all 10 wins by finish. 10-0 5 subs 5 ko. He’s got wins by Superman punch and inverted triangle too. FFC and SFH champion too. Holds one punch ko power and can finish the fight on the ground as well. Very bright prospect and dude is all action. Think he will make a splash as the next big South American prospect. Keep your eyes out for him

Also, I already posted this in the Eagle fc thread but for those of you who are not in that thread:

Rizvan magomedov (the co-head of the promotion) said next event is July 29 and will feature, as he put it “a bantamweight clash” (seems like a mini grand prix) and will have Irwin riviera, dudu dantas (very excited about that pickup), Cody Gibson, ray borg, Ricky bandejas, and they said they are signing more BWs as they speak

This would be an incredibly event and just thinking of all 5 of those guys on the same card is awesome. I think Eagle fc is really turning into a massive promotion. If they can build a deep BW division I think they will get a ton of eyes on them

Malik lewis just became the PFC champ, subbing his toughest test yet in the second round. He improves to 5-0 overall and bringing his total undefeated streak to 12. His opponent, Vinicius carried a very impressive record of 15-3 so this was a massive win for Malik. May get him eyes from the big show (if they weren’t already on him)

Carlos mota just won today at north iowa fights, becoming their new 125 champ. Granted, he crushed a can but still good to see him back on the winning track. You may remember the name for his war he had with Charles Johnson for the LFA 125 title back in January. Still stands as one of my favorite fights of the year. Even though he lost, he put on a solid showing against a beast in Johnson. I think mota will find his way back to lfa soon and maybe even a contender series shot after a few more wins

Was watching highlights on Twitter for samurai fight house 4 that was on today and I think Argentina has produced yet another prospect, this time in the stacked 135 division, Mauro Mastromarini. He’s now 13-1 with 11 finishes; 8 ko 3 sub and just became the SFH 135 champ. Watching his fight and previous highlights and, holy **** is this kid violent. He hasn’t been fighting the greatest competition but he has been running through who he has fought. He has serious, serious ko power and went 7-0 as an amateur and now 13-1 as a pro and is only 23! He needs to fight better competition before I start calling him a legit prospect but he’s definitely on my radar now. Here’s his highlights below.

Mastromarini is definitely a legit talent, my friends in Argentina who are into MMA say he's one of the top guys coming out of the country right now. Agreed he needs better opponents but the regional scene there is pretty rough, I've been watching him for almost 2 years now and he's got a lot of tools especially in striking

Ya I think him and Ribovics are the two best guys out of Argentina rn. The dude he just completely dominated from bell to bell was actually pretty solid. Definitely a big fan of dinamita now. I bet we see him in the ufc with maybe 1 or 2 more wins
