Prediction: correct Schaub   correct KO/TKO   wrong Round 1  


Schaub should win this carefully manicured fight selection.  The confidence he is showing in his post-fight interviews, I would like to see him fight a top 10 UFC heavyweight after he wins vs. Cro Cop.  Hopefully this summer he will be fighting a Frank Mir, Roy Nelson rematch, or maybe a Cheick Kongo?  I do like the fact that Cro Cop has heavy hands and big kicks, but I do agree that the Cro Cop we are seeing now is just a fragment of the Cro Cop of PRIDE.

this is an interesting boxer vs. kickboxer matchup on the feet. different techniques at work, but you have to go with the younger, faster, healthier guy.

Mirko is at a disadvantage here, he's slowing down steadily and Schaub is a young gifted fighter who has shown constant improvement. Schaub is a legit guy that can very well make a run at the belt in a couple years if he can keep it up.

I've hoped for the old Mirko to come back every fight since his loss to Gonzaga. I hope I'm wrong, but Schaub should jab his way to a UD here.

I change my mind every time i edit my picks, but this one is final. Schaub by athleticism, though i'd love to see Mirko with one last devastating KO.

I find it painful to watch Cro Cop now. He's such a shadow of the Pride legend he once was. I find it hard to see Cro Cop beating a very young, fresh up and comer like schaub.

A head kick would be a miracle!  I don't understand his hesitation...his ground game isn't that bad that he can't survive on the ground until they get back to their feet.  the fact that he is so hesitant is allowing other fighters to take advantage of him.  I wish it changes but my guess is that he will revert back to the lack luster CroCop that we have seen in his last few fights.
