Prediction: wrong Dunham   wrong Submission   wrong Round 2

I don't know what kind of game plan Jackson can come up with. Sprawl and Brawl is Guillard's best chance at  winning, but that is easier said than done. Jackson doesn't always have perfect game plans, Leonard Garcia fights for Jackson, what is Jackson's game plan there, "OK Leonard go out there a flail wildly...". He can only do so much with the fighter he has to work with. Though Guillard has improved over the years, Dunham has shown very well against very good fighters, but he hasn't faced someone with the explosive striking of Guillard. But again Guillard has continued to struggle on the ground against good submission guys.

I'll go with the upset here. Guillard has shown good evolution in his game, is more patient, and might be able to keep Dunham at range and score points en route to a 3-round decision.

I think that Melvin is finally on the right track but he needs more time to before he can beat a ground fighter like Evan Dunham

Two of Dunham's big wins came by split decision, and while I felt he won the fight against Sherk, that one was close as well. So while he's an excellent fighter he's not a dominant force yet, and Guillard is streaking. I think Melvin edges him out.

Even though he lost to sherk, Dunham showed that he can hang with some of the better lightweight's in the division. I think he should run right through guillard. I think jim miller will be a good matchup for him, after melvin.

@ Jeremy. Dunham's split decision wins should have been unanimous. When I watched the Griffin fight I gave all 3 rounds to Dunham and I thought they were pretty clear. In the Aurelio fight the Sherdog PBP scored rd 1 a 10-8 for Dunham and one Judge had it 30-27, the other two 29-28, and 28-29. Even his split decision loss was very controversial. Really it just seems he's the anti Gracia. Where Garcia wins on scorecards he clearly lost, Dunham tends to lose scorecards he clearly won. Judges just don't like the guy for some reason.

The more I think about this fight, the more I think Guillard can win. He has a good sprawl, and his work with Greg Jackson should be enough to help him get back on the feet and avoid a sub if he gets taken down. Also, Dunham gets no love from the judges, and Guillard's new greg jackson, dancing style does more than enough to get the judges in his favor. I think if he can keep this fight on the feet he could definitely outpoint Dunham (who got rocked by Escudero).I won't change my pick, because I'm sure to regret it, but I think Guillard can pull off the upset.

Melvin has really grown a person & fighter since joining Jackson's. Guillard's chance at winning relies heavily on his takedown defense. If Melvin can stuff Evan's takedowns it could be a long night for Evan. But it only takes one takedown for an opponent to take full advantage of his weaknesses on the ground. While Guillard has improved his ground game it wont be enough to stop him from being sub'ed, Dunham by submission.
