@c_arnoud, rashad was supposed to fight shogun early in the year, but had a knee injury. then he was supposed to fight davis later, and then davis got a knee injury. friken knees man

I think Evans will be the better wrestler and striker, I think Rashad will wear him out with GnP then get the KO late in the fight

man i was confident in Davis but i watched his fights againts Stann and the Mauler and i didnt like his striking a lot.
but i dont think rashad had really tough competition in a long time, to its closer than people think.

The reason Im picking Rashad is because in most fights like this where both guys have a pretty solid wrestling background I dont see it going to the ground THAT much. I think its gonna be a total of a litte more than 3 minuted on the ground in R 1/2 combined then I think in the third Rashad will connect with a big shot. I dont think Davis' is at that level yet to stand with Rashad. But who knows.

@mike. i agree. even though i think evans is better on the ground(why take a chance) just pick him apart standing up. stuff any takedowns and knock him out ala liddell style.

yeah I agree it's kind of weird, I thought all main events would be 5 rounders regardless but it seems like they have been picking and chosing which non-titles will be 5 rounders

I think Evans is the better striker. Davis, I think, is the better wrestler. I think that Evans has a good enough sprawl to keep it on the feet and eventually stop Davis. Round 1 of Davis/Nogueira showed how vulnerable Davis is, especially on the feet. Evans is a much better wrestler than Nog. I think Nog would have finished Davis if he could have repeated his performance of the first round.

I don't like Rashad, but I will be rooting for him to expose Phil Davis for the overrated, one-note fighter that he actually is. Davis has no business being in a title eliminator fight.

He grabbed on to Jones coattails and scooted his way up the list. He is a stiff striker that looks like Hershel Walker with his striking ability. Decent wrestler but Rashad should be able to stuff his takedowns fairly easily.

what does Señor Jose have wrote up on this fight???? Anyone know?
